honestly i think we just arent an intense or physical team look at the hits being thrown in every other series when i see what is being called checks for us it is just mind blowing if anything they are more like incedental contact chasing guys and waving your stick at them monster hits change series and we just dont have anyone other then clarky with the mentality to lay a big clean hit without taking a stupid penalty they need to be not so afraid to throw a hard check its like they are scared of getting hurt and if you arent willing to go through pain then chances are you dont have what it really takes to get anywhere in the playoffs

Yup. We've proven that when were focused Florida has trouble even touching the puck. Only problem is we've only been focused for about two periods in two games. I don't know why its so doom and gloom after one game on here. We didn't play well, but if this team has shown anything its that it will come back hard.

Its doom and gloom because our two good periods and four poopty ones could have easily cost us 2 games. We were pretty lucky in game 1.

its just frustrating to know what this team is capable of and see them put that effort forth in the playoffs.

I dont see how game 3 should make them any more motivated than potentially sweeping home ice away in game 2

And yet it's 1-1 and we're going home. If we don't turn it around it'll be a coin flip who wins this series but if we pick up our game then we can win. I don't think everybody should think this is the end but rather look at the positives that come out of this. We only play two good periods yet we won a game and only lost a game by one goal.

Since when did you become an optimist? Truthfully I am too. If we can turn it on I expect us to when it matters....We can easily take both at home and go back to florida to finish it

I think it's a must to take the two at home. And to finish it in 6. I don't think we'd win a game 7 in Florida.

True. I don't want to get too ahead of myself but this team has the ability to beat up the Panthers every game. The talent is there but the effort isn't.

In actuality, I think we needed this loss.

Even during our winning streak, we weren't playing our best hockey. The loss might just be a wake-up call to the entire team.

On the bright side of everything, the goals can be attributed to bounces and individual mistakes. Systematically and positionally, we've been playing well and we've proven when the efforts there, we are the best team on the ice, it's just about sustaining that intensity and coming through with that effort on a consistent basis.

Ya but we can say the same thing the panthers can just as easy out play the devils and vice versa. Jose has shown he has come to play and we still have Clemmer as backup if he (frank)s up. You guys are the much better offense but we have a better defense. It going to really come down to every night which team wants it more end of story.

This team has fought through their problems all year. I am confident they can fight through this one. An early goal from Parise would go a long way in game 3

Losing here would sting a lot. We need our top players to step up.

your right about that....another early exit and an absent parise would leave me with a lot of questions about his abilities in the clutch

Completely noticed this even closer to the end of the year, hes not engaged, he lets Zajac and Parise go in hard for the puck and floats, the one thing though with him hanging back i've noticed hes usually in place for a good back check or to help the D out.
- Bowkes

I would prefer we have someone who forechecks hard on their line. Clarkson would be a good option.

We need to go back to what was working IMO.

Parise-Henrique-Kovy
Sykora-Elias-Zubrus
Poni-Zajac-Clarkson

And put Clarkson back on the top PP unit.

I don't see why you say that we have shown we can beat you and you can beat us. The season series we split but one of your wins was in a shootout so I don't see why this series can't go either way. Your kidding yourself if you had thought you were going to sweep us both games have been basically 1 goal games. I think it is a pretty even series.
