No they don't.

You right, there aren't conspiracies, the NHL is just a joke.

I don't want to go that far about my favorite league/sport, but they need to take a deep look at what they are doing and the direction this league is going. For starters detach their lips from Crosby's glutius maximus.

Do we have pictures of Crosby and Giroux mixing it up?

The referee's back is blocking the camera as Crosby didn't let up from his clinch until the refs stepped in.

I dunno if it is conspiracy or favoritism - I think though that the NHL faces a lot more financial pressure than the NFL. The NHL would not dare do something like what Goodell did to the Saints. In fact, in the Bertuzzi incident, there is pretty strong circumstantial evidence that players were egged on to attach Moore, even talk of a bounty. But no action was taken against the Canucks that I know of. I think the NHL takes a lot of decisions with the bottom line in mind. If you suspend star players for the playoffs, viewership and interest drops, and this rule of fitting punishment to harm done is ridiculous. Its win-win for the guy laying down the cheap shot. If they take out the star player, then its worth it (from a cold-blooded perspective) of being dirty. If not, well, $2500 is pocket money for a NHL player. Generally, the bigger examples are made out of marginal players.

i was at the game so i'll have to watch my dvr before really forming opinions.. but my gut tells me that if it were the flyers down 3- 0 and thay started crosschecking pens in the throat and poop like that it would be a big deal in the media and the league.

When there is a human element involved, there will always be mistakes made. The NHL is no different from any other Sports League in that regard.

I think that is reasonable.

Although in any punitive system, the amount of injury caused is a factor in the punishment. As it should be.

Either do I, I'm just bored with my team out of it.

The Crosby thing has to stop. I respect him as a talented player, but the overhyping of Sidney Tewbow just overshadows what other great players in the league do. I'm seriously thinking that Crosby may never return to form. The head injuries mixed in with some actual hockey and team adversity that he has never dealt with before, who knows?

I don't sweat the small stuff. I could really care less what Campbell said. Nor do I get into any of this stuff such as hating Crosby because he's the face of the League. Not worth my time.

thank you. i've been saying things to that effect all day. should be multiple long suspensions. suspend the coach, threaten that crosby will be suspended if they continue to carry on like this. hit the owner and gm in the wallet. should not be tolerated.

I think the NHL and NBC with thier huge financial commitment to hockey is influencing decisions in the league. The NFL on the other hand makes so much money they have to constantly prove to congress "oh no were aren't profiting on big ass guys destoying each other out there at all. We care about player safety, please don't commision an investigation on us". Where as the NHL is doing well, better than the past, it still has to fight for everything it gets.

Is what it is. All that matters right now is that the Flyers are up 3-0 in the series and have made the Pens look like fools after todays game. The Flyers are playing their game and its showing on the scoreboard.

Is now the time to get excited? Is now the time to Welcome back JvR and Meszaros? We're Winning but we haven't Won. It's very rare that a team can come back from a 3-0 lead in a series but I think we all know it's not impossible.

He did the same thing earlier in the game from a mess in front of the pens net, he waited until another pen got a hold of a flyer and started tossing jabs

The Flyers PP is smoking right now in this series. I was very impressed today by the play of Voracek even though he didnt score a goal the kid is fantastic. Need to lock him up as he was all over the ice today.
