Did a Russian kill your entire family, or are you always this narrow-minded? - laughs2907
No, I just like to go with the people who generally lead teams to stanley cups aka Canadian captains like Crosby, Towes, Getzlaf, Staal.
ALthough I do have much love for ovie and kovelchuk. Talk about reg season dynamo's. Reg season is where it's at!
P.S I forgot Lecav and Richards and St Louis for tampa....... than I guess scott stevens, joe newyindyk, steve yzerman. But I didn't wanna overdo it |

Vinny L, and J Staal are so overrated it blows my mind.
Datsyuk sucks.

Yeah. I think Yakupov is worth more too. - Maxbone
I will give you that your team has an enormous amount of young talent. Some people ask how will that many talented young players all get enough ice time.
What they don't factor in is all of em have the physical make up of a boy band so when Taylor Hall is returning from injury. RNH will be replacing him.
A nice convenient merry-go-round for the coaching staff |

1, 3, 5 are absolutely ridiculous.
Weber, a young, established star defenseman for an unproven russian? Right.
Are you saying Weber and Myers have the same trade value?
Are you saying Myers is valued at a budding top 3 defenseman, a 5th overall pick, and an additional first round pick (deal 5)
Are you saying it costs a first round pick, and the NHL's leading point getter among rookie defensemen to move up 4 spots.
PK Subban as the price to move up, doesn't make sense for Montreal if you've seen what this kid does for that team.
No thanks, you guys can draft Yakupov.

Oh wow. so you name the 1 player out of the last 10 years. Way to go.
Would love to have you picking my team. Should we go for the 90 percent guy or the 10 percent guy?
Well obviously the 10 percent guy, recipe for success lol
I'll just keep sticking by the fact that majority of teams are lead by Canadians to the stanley cup. I'll be right 16 out of the last 17 years.
You can have that 1 time if it makes you feel good. |

Entertaining article. What's more entertaining how people are so offended at some of the ideas. Especially those leaf fans who overvalue their own. |

It's tough to overvalue draft picks, it would seem they have fixed value, and we'd be giving up that additional draft pick with one of our prospects to move up 4 spots.
Entertainment is exactly what it is.

Weber is an absolute BEAST with no weaknesses in his game. Strong defensively, TOUGH, offensively gifted with a ridiculous shot and he's young
Yeah I'd definitely trade that for a small unproven Russian. Good d-men gifted in both zones are so easy to come by.
I as well almost puked when I read that.
I will give RIchard, the Tyler Myers one isn't THAT bad but even then I still wouldn't do it. |

I'm not sure why you, as a Leafs fan, wouldn't want Yakupov. He's like Kessel, but without a uterus. |

I was kidding! Obviously all Canadians are better. I hope the Oilers select Tom Wilson with our #1 pick.
Boston must be so proud they didn't get to pick Ovechkin in the 04 draft... No way they would have won the cup last year if they had him on their roster.

Cause we have enough soft forwards on our team. If you haven't noticed, the NHL is built around teams who have bulls on their teams plowing the way. Not bambi's frolicking through the forest. You may think I am again taking a shot at all your skinny kids. Really I wasn't. It was just a nice convenient surprise |

It's not that funny, yes, he would likely be. We don't have him though, so what's your point. If we had that pick, we'd be drafting Yakupov, end of story. The oil have been graced by the hockey gods, so they are in a position where they can entertain offers, with expectations like this - it sounds like you guys will be adding another 1st overall pick to your roster this summer.

Although Gardiner looked great this year so did Schenn in his rookie year. I'd take Yakupov even if it's will cost a lot. It's been a while since a #1 was a bust. |
