We fill our 2nd line center weakness with a blue chipper. Nuge 1 and johansen 2? Hells yes.
Ryjo's a big fuker too!! giving us much needed size in our top 6.
And
Ryan murray could be the 2 way dman we covet so much.

Not to mention, hemmer prob gonna play that 2nd line rw over yakupov next year anyway. Even great rooks live around 50+ points. A healthy hemmer CAN bring more than that

Johansen was underwhelming this year when many had him pegged as a pre-season Calder favorite. gags may not be big but whomever replaces him needs to replace his production as well as the other aspects of his game. I want size on our top 6 too but we can't just go herky jerky replacing a steady player like Gagner, who has made such steady strides in his all-around game, with a question mark like Johansen simply because he's big. Ryan Murray, yeah, Id love to get him, and maybe it's just maybe but I want a more concrete return if Gagner is going along with Yakupov. I just can't jusitfy a deal where a potential goal scoring machine and a proven NHL forward leave, and the return is rather uncertain.

Agreed about not giving the pick away but they arent gonna get a player like subban just to move up two spots. Montreal is sooo thin on defence and he is young and they will need to rebuild too. If the oilers find a trade partner its probably gonna be columbus or a team outside of the lottery.

Id give up gagner for less, and think replacing him might be one of the best moves this franchise can make. and thats where we mainly differ obviously.

Schenn plays an entirely different game, he's a solid shutdown guy. Schenn's never looked the way Gardiner did this year. If I'm not mistaken Gardiner put up 25ish points in the 2nd half of his season, that's more points then Schenn has ever put up.

Actually Tambs is trying to downplay the whole Yakupov thing right now. IMO He wants the other teams think he wants to trade the pick thus creating a bidding war then he either gets a kings ransom or drafts Yakupov. Simple.
