I'm not sure if you are looking for hits,
are bored, or if you just have no knowledge of hockey / retarded./

Pick and choose.

Gardiner + 5th pick for Eberle + Yakupov + Nuge?

Honestly you guys are the same ones DEFENDING Richard Cloutier after these trade proposals. Mike Augello does this? I throw him under the bus.

I don't understand why everyone is hating on Myers so much. The guy had 23 points in 55 games coming off wrist surgery on a horribly under performing team. Did anyone catch how well he was playing post all-star break when he was finally healthy and playing with Ehrhoff. I agree he's not Weber but he is way better than Gardiner in all aspects of his game. Oh yea, he's also only 22 years old and he's 6'8 230 lb.

As for the trade idea itself, in theory it makes sense but the fact that Lindy Ruff and Russians don't exactly mix well would prevent this deal from ever happening.

One of your fellow Leafers compared him to Paul Coffey.

Who defended him? We're mainly (myself anyways) just answering the turds coming in here claiming stupid things like "yakupov isn't that good/injury prone/small/russian etc." , "not much difference between 1st and 5th this year" and other such assorted drek. We know his proposals (well the Subban and Weber ones anyways) are idiotic. Oilers fans rip on clouts way more than anyone.

I'll put it like this. If Augello made these suggestions and the Leafs had 1st overall, do you feel Leafs fans would rip him because A) those suggestions are not reasonable for other teams or B) our 1st overall??? He'll be the best player evah!

Lol you're right, every team has homers. As long as we agree the proposals were nuts, then all is good.

Yeah drafting last for the past 3 years signifies hope.

We will. I'm not sure why people are in here all butthurt. We will draft him, sit back and watch him score many goals alongside Hall, Eberle and Nuge. We're good with that.
- GuyLaDouche

This.
I don't understand why it's a bad idea to have many star forwards on a team especially when they are still dirt cheap. Edmonton will draft yakupov and that will that.

For all the idiots that think Nail has limited value go look at the last 10 1st overall picks:

Kovalchuk
Nash
MA Fleury
Ovechkin
Crosby
E. Johnson
Kane
Stamkos
Tavares
Hall
Nugent-Hopkins

Almost every one turns into a star. If you think you would get Yakupov for anything less you are mistaken.

And NO Schenn, Subban, etc. do not have the same potential that Yakupov does. Every time a player has been anointed the undisputable #1 he ends up an absolute gem. Could he bust? Yes, anyone can. But it's a very strong possibility he ends up a star.

Thus, slide some of those names I listed above into Richards proposals and see how lob-sided they look then.

The last "busts" were over a dozen years ago. Scouting has it locked pretty good nowadays to know what kind of player you will "likely" get.

I don't drink enough water at times so he helps lube the interior for the crap to squeeze out.

I think subban is in another class than schenn, but whatevs.

Nail may have more potential, but the 1 pick/yakupov isnt worth an established star plus a 3rd overall. And if u look at the types of players that have been drafted in those top few spots lately, that guy will probably also be a star.

We've done this before i know, but u brought it up!

Not to mention when these types of deals ( trading down a couple spots) have happened in the past, the asset coming back was nowhere the caliber of a subban or a schenn.

More like an extra 2nd rounder etc

I don't really think so. Schenn is just a defensive player so when he is off his game he doesn't contribute in any way and when Subban looks like a nightmare defensively he still gets some credit because he puts up some decent #'s offensively and looks more "flashy" out there.

I also wouldn't say PK or Schenn are "established stars" either.

Both are very 1 dimensional and while their potential is high, they haven't proven to be consistent enough in the NHL yet to be considered bonafide stars.

Schenn is slowfooted and was victimized badly many times this year... But hes still developing.
Maybe its closer than i think, but imo at the moment, schenn is way overrated, whereas subbans already a star imo.
Hes gonna get burnt sometimes cause he plays that high risk game, but his talent is undeniable.
He was pretty much mtl's go to as a rook in there eastern finals run.

I have watched a fair amount of Subban and he has been pretty bad defensively for long stretches at times.

When I think about what our back end needs more I think we need a defender more than a power play guy. Our power play was #1 or 2 so not as glaring of an issue.

For sure. I wasnt advocating an offensive dman. Just that i think subban is a notch above schenn.

Im hoping for a true two way guy, not an offensive pp qb.

I want carlson, not green

Yep. I was very content when i thought he'd be our guy.

Just cant pass up on a player like yakupov i guess.

And the type of asset i think we'd get back to trade down doesnt make it worth it either
