Ponikarovsky, Kovalchuk, Henrique, and Bernier all looked like they were going through the motions, they didn't play bad, but they didn't create anything. The Elias line had a good game, Gionta and Carter were good, Parise was good, Zajac was mediocre. Clarkson looked like he was trying to play hard, but just a step behind.

Volchenkov looked like he had cinderblocks on his feet, Zidlicky started off slow but then picked it up, all the other defenseman played well....

This team has a really good sense of team unity. The things they say and do, you can really tell how close knit the locker room is.

I give a lot of credit to DeBoer. I was hard on him earlier in the year but he knew the right buttons to push and has gotten every player going. He knows how much responsibility he gives parise as captain. He seemed to really learn from his days with the panthers.

the call on gionta.. the 'trip'.. that was the funniest crap i've seen all year. the 2 get tangled up, whoever trips "gionta".. then gionta "trips" him. it should be no call for both. but why call one on Gio when the panther did the same thing? because he didn't do anything? thats cuz no one tripped anyone at all. just a hockey play. and the Upshall thing was a joke.

refs have been very silly so far this postseason. Briere. .and then the "trip". funny stuff.

Whats important is we didnt have our best game, but we got a win. Got out for a skate, got into it a little, on to the next game! Im sure waiting didnt help either, no excuse now its time to turn it up.

Glad we got the win. Need to work harder still. A-train had a night to forgot he should come back stronger next game.
