Maybe the Pens can return the favor of what the Flyers did in 2000 to them when the Pens took the first two on the road in Philly only to lose four straight. We just need to get a game where it goes to 5 OTs and break their spirit with a late goal to win it!

Let's face it, the Flyers haven't exactly been lighting it up this year in home games or afternoon starts.

Game 3 has trouble written all over it for Philly.

Go Kings!

DB preaches an entertaining system that is great in the regular Season. When they won in 09 they had gill, scuds, and eaton. Gill and Scuds were lucky to make it to th red line let alone get caught pinching or leading the rush.

I am not trolling, but the Penguins couldn't win when they had the match ups they wanted? Now the Flyers have home ice for two games, getting the last change.

it does. The Flyers are almost in a position where they HAVE to get at least one of the next 2.

1. Flyers aren't a great home ice team.

2. They also, as Tangent said above, really suck at afternoon games.

Just got home from Consol. Kudos to the Flyers, they made the Pens play for every boneheaded mistake, and there were many. I don't blame Bylsma, this team has simply lost its defensive conscience since Sid came back. Its not Sid's fault either, they just are playing terrible situational hockey right now. Brutal. Its all correctable stuff, but wow, just wow.

Does Lovejoy make the same play if Therien is behind the bench.....not a chance. Iron Mike was ruthless when they screwed up a fundamental play like that.

I can hear it now.... "I honestly believe they want to be the worst defensive squad in the league"

I'm not saying Therrien is the answer, but I am saying there's no way this team would be so apt for these mental mistakes.

- madmike71

I can tell you from my experiences, not once did I think about the coach behind the bench when making a quick bang bang play on a faceoff play like that. I'm also not going to go far side cross ice. Strong side all day. That has nothing to do with coaching and everything to do with common sense and back to the risk-reward point I made after game 1.

If you want to say that we should move into a 1-2-2 I'll hear that argument and probably agree with it, but I don't buy the Therrien vs. Bylsma comparisons on a play like the Lovejoy one, or the shorthanded goals.

I am actually a Kings fan, I am just making the observation that if Malkin couldn't score when the Penguins had last change, how will he when that Flyers rookie is all over him all game ?

Watch, if the Pens come back and win this, some of the same people will come on here and say that Bylsma did a great job not to panic, remained calm and that gave the team confidence, etc.u

Maybe, if they come back to win it will be because Bylsma made adjustments that worked. They won't be winning playing like this.

We've been female doging about the system and his unwillingness to adjust for a while.

He practically sh!t himself tonight. He failed to call a timeout after an icing at a critical part of the game in the 3rd. The line was gassed and Giroux's line was coming over the boards. Instead he doesnt call it and it's 6-5. Lights out. Good thing he held at timeout to use when they were down two with 90 secs to play. At some point DB has to take some blame.

I'm not touting Therrien as the answer.... Just saying after he took over as coach he beat it into them about making such a horrific mental mistake. It took awhile, but you could see the transition in the team. After seeing the same mental errors over and over and over, I get the feeling Bylsma is not taking guys to task for such brutal and obvious mental errors.

those are good reasons why it could be 2 - 1 after Sunday, and 2 - 2 after Tuesday.

He also beat them into a non playoff team with a healthy lineup.

He is probably not fired if Gonchar isn't out most of the season.
