I'd gladly take a win of any kind, but it would nice to see a game more like the first one of the season series in the reg season -- the only one where the Flyers scored first (and second and third).

Pittsburgh is actually just as good of a comeback team as the Flyers are. So even if the Flyers finally manage to be one to go on top early, it's a long battle ahead. What I really don't want to hear tomorrow is obligatory and unfunny "first team to score loses" jokes or stuff about "Flyers went to the well one time too many".

All pressure is on Pittsburgh tonight. If the Flyers win, it stays on the Penguins as the series changes venue.

I really want a nice, boring 4-1 victory for the Flyers tonight.

The angst of every shot on your goalie ro bad turnover by your team in their own end. The excitement of your team putting the pressure on in the offensive zone. Shots of the post and thinking what if!

Simply put, there is nothing better in all of sports then playoff overtime hockey.

I have said this before, if the NHL ever goes to a shootout for a playoff game, at any point in time in the OT (IE: after 2 OT periods) I will stop watching the NHL.

For game 1, I went to my Buddy's house. Tonight we do the reverse and he comes to my place.

The Wife will just hang out in another room, she isn't much of a hockey fan.

We will enjoy a couple of adult beverages this night but we don't get out of hand or anything like that.

We are alot like Lava in how we celebrated the OT winner in game 1, a solid fist pump! A high 5 or 2 and then speak about the game for the next 20 minutes.

We will break down what we thought the differences in the game were and what the turning points in the game were.

And after a win, post game is a must.

- ggunky

wow, it's like something I would do. Yeah, we get excited and we have to start doing the quiet celebration -- the jumping and hugging bc my 6 month old will be sleeping, but i've mastered that having watched playoff hockey at my brothers with his kids. I agree, post game following a win is a must, a loss and I put something from the DVR on.

You disgust me.

I wasnt even invited

- jak521

I didn't even find out until after I got home. I got stuck late at work, until almost 8 PM and when I walked in the door the wife says, we're going out to dinner.

We got home, and planned on going to bed for some special time...well, by the time I was done my shower, she was out cold...after about fifteen minutes of Blues-Sharks, I was too

When something goes a certain way positively for one team, it normally starts with the league's golden boy's team. A lot goes then Pens way and the one time things don't, they get an apology? It's not so much that I have a problem with the apology itself, it's deserved. As stated by Bill, many other teams are waiting for theirs.

I'll also take a nail-biting 3-2 3 OT win...the bottom line is I want the Flyers to be up 2-0 in the series by tomorrow.

People have to remember, Lemieux cried to the refs and dove more than Crosby ever did
- Jsaquella

Those of us that remember the pre-2005 NHL do. And we remember that he had the NHL's ear and affection as much then as now. Heck, Gretzky didn't/doesn't seem to have the NHL around his finger like Mario.

In this series, the first goal doesn't mean a whole lot. I would love for the Flyers to get the first one but we all know that that is crazy talk.

I said it in yesterday's blog.

If I was a player agent, and my player was called in for a discipline hearing, I'm taking a video of that and showing it to Shanahan and asking, if THAT gets nothing but a fine of $2500, you can't possibly suspend my guy.

Bitz got two games for his hit. Weber should have gotten the same

- Jsaquella

You Gotta Remeber it Byron Bitz and Shea Weber......the NHL will def make sure Weber plays...he is a big name and Byron bitz....is well Byron Bitz

i agree -- we can't be picky about it. I'll take whatever score, as long as ours is more than the penguins.

My buddy has no kids so noise level at his house isn't much of an issue.

At my place my little guys are all old enough that they will stay up and watch the game with us.

Come on 7:30!!!

If it's 3-3 late in the 3rd period, and a Flyer accentuates to draw a call. And the Flyers get a PP, and win the game 4-3. Who is going to be upset with the Flyer who does the accentuating?

If he were a Flyer and had done that to Crosby, he'd be out for the playoffs.

What he did was stupid, premeditated, not part of a hockey play, and could have resulted in a major injury (Zetty's helmet was broken). The thing that amazed me is Detroit's complete unwillingness to grandstand. They said no injury. They didn't posture. And nothing happened as a result.

- bodiva88

You nailed it. There is no question that Weber would have got the entire series. As crazy as this makes me sound, I want Weber even more after that hit though. Many believed before that hit that Weber may end up in Detroit. I think that ship has sailed. I would love to see years of Weber battling with Crosby and Malkin.

Shouldn't matter. Bitz's hit was dangerous, Weber's head slam was ridiculous and embarrassing.

A win is a win, even if the Flyers score a goal on a play that should have been whistled for an offsides.

If Detroit is interested in Weber and has the chance to get him. What he did to Zetterberg isn't going to matter one bit.
