i think i enjoy staying home now more than going to the game, except for the playoffs. i find almost everything about the arena experience to be annoying, stale, and overpriced. giving up my 1/4 season next year. saving myself the $ and aggravation. - hammarby31
Yea when things get better for me financially I'd like to get season tickets. But these days it's not the same as it was 20 years ago. I'll have to see how things go. I'd definitely like to get a game in a month. Taking my kids this year was a great experience, because I got to see them mesmerized by it all, like I was as a kid. But man that was a pricey night That and watching Bryz get booed for his third star twirl was kinda lame, not that it will happen everytime either. With what HD does for the game on TV, living room seats aren't that bad. But I definitely love getting to see the little nuances of the game that the TV doesn't always get.

that leaves out the best part, where Leino turns towards JVR with a look that says "did he just hit me in the head?" - Marc D
As much as I love Lavy and prefer him as a coach, John Stevens' reaction at about the 5:10 minute mark is one of my favorite moments. So awesome and awkward.

the best part of being there is being able to watch what you want on the ice, and the crowd energy if there is any...and any decent playoff game will bring that. i had full season tickets in 04, lower bowl, which was fantastic, especially with the playoff run they had, and again in 06 upstairs, after the lockout which was forsberg's first year and carter/richards rookie seasons - also a good time. i gave them up in 07, as i was living in the lehigh valley and it just became too much to get down there 41 times a year. starting in 09 i've done a quarter season with nastyflyergirl. she deserves a medal.

a lot of good times in that video
Jim Brick Dowd
Iron Nuts Thoresen running over the Cap goalie to set up a goal
the entire Old City Legion of Poon
Hartnell getting crushed, laying on the ice, then gets up and shoots the puck like nothing happened

Not as awkward as Jeff Carters reaction to getting hit in the head with a bottle.
I disagree with you, as well, MJL and side with jak on this one. Youre right, it is part of the game and I think embellishment( or overembellishment) to draw a call is very disrespectful and dishonorable. The Crosby play vs Jagr is the perfect illistration of how I view this. I would be embarrassed to try to draw a call by acting like that. I would be more embarassed that I allowed the guy to stop me from getting around him, but thats me. Its akin to the way I (we) percieve soccer players and how they try to draw fouls acting as if they were shot. Again, to me, it reeks of weak character, its not how I opperate. - KINGKENZO
It's okay that you disagree. But it happens in every game almost, and every team including the Flyers do it. Most Flyers fans just don't like Crosby. It's really not a big deal, and is way, way overblown. There is no disrespect or lack of honor in trying to do anything you can to win the game. And really has zero to do with a player's character.

YEa it is part of the sports world. Gotta say though I think its cheap too. I think it totally undermines the basic fundamental of competition. In that you go out there, give it your best and if the opponent or you yourself commit a foul then by all means a penalty should be called. But to go out of your way to sell a foul and gain an advantage, I don't like it. - JoeRussomanno
