It depends on Kubina's health. And I don't see Lilja as being slow at all. He regularly moves up on the play, or to make a hit, and is rarely out of position.
- MJL

Forwards he isn't "bad". Backwards, can not make up ground.

I like Gustafsson's mobility though. Although he does tend to get pounded on and isn't a big guy to begin with.

I'm not really a huge fan. I like Bourdon a lot more.

lots of craziness so far.. .

-the blown calls in flyers/pens game 1 that directly led to each team scoring
-the glass falling on krejci
-the yotes having too many men on the ice for their 2nd goal

what else am i missing

- MrBigglesworth

yeah, Weber thinking he was on the top turnbuckle with Zetterberg and only fining hime $2500 -- and Tortorella $20000 for comments.

I don't see Lilja's skating as an issue.

I like Kubina and Lilja pairing better than MAB and Lilja.

Lilja did just fine last game. I thought he was one of the better defenseman out on the ice and he even had some chances in the offensive zone.

I was thinking last night how I'd almost forgotten JVR was in the team. He barely played at all this year. HUGE boost if they get him back in the lineup soon. We still have messy on he shelf. Unreal depth this year.

rinaldo sits right? when jvr is ready.

I just rather have a veteran out there than an inexperience MAB. He didnt look good in game one before the injury occured. I thought he played nervous and was being exposed.

I'm happy with Bourdon too. I know he's taken some heat on here for his skating but I don't see that as an issue.

He had his moments in Game 1 but I also saw some nice plays made under pressure.

I've seen one poster question Bourdon's skating. Don't know what the genesis of that is.

I would hope that the rookie jitters would settle down as time went on. If the injury is serious enough, we won't know. My hope is that Kubina looks like he did from the time he arrived until he was hurt.

Did anyone see how savage the Bruins looked last night? Some real savage hits and even running over the Caps netminder who stood on his head.

I think this site has peaks and valleys as it always did. I miss having all the old regulars around because it was more knowledgable people talking puck. I think you have to take good with the bad and it would be better if some of the old school guys came back

I AGREE, there are times where a debate gets to be a court room, so I just don't post that often. It appears at times to be your opinion against my opinion, quite frankly it's an opinion. I value and enjoy reading everyone's opinion but I've seen where a person gets put in the corner because they have to defend their opinion with facts and articles.
Basically if you agree or disagree, respect the fact that it's just an opinion. Some are good and some are bad...it's just a message board not a court room.

Bourdon will be a decent player in years to come. I like his overall game but he struggled in Game 1 before the injury. Kubina will have his chance to play and show what he can do.

There has been reports that his skating was on the weak side, that's why he wasn't called up sooner. Since then, he has proved his worth...

Flyers need Kubina tonight. They have to be able to roll their 3 defensive pairings. I dont want to start riding the same four guys so that there dead by the end of the series.

Zac can be more impactful if he plays with his head on straight. Wellwoods speed is nice to have though and he seems to have a good knack for staying with the play even after you think it's broken.

Wellwood has impressed me. This kid I believe should be a player that sticks around in the future as well.

My lone issue with the Campbell apology is, quite simply, that there's blown calls in every game. Is good ol Collie going to come out after every game with a list, or will it just be apologies to the Penguins?

You can't challenge them, as Laviolette did. You can't criticize them, as Tortorella did and now, when there's a bad call, the league apologizes to them. I don;t buy that there's a conspiracy, but the NHL sure does nothing to dispel that junk.
