I love it. It makes the victories that much better. Watching the spin by the "experts" is awesome. It just proves they don't know what they are talking about.

No matter if they are labeled an expert or not... doesn't mean they are useful..

Not really, but if you're going to troll a fanbase, don't puss out when they come back at you.

He was joking about the off-sides call that wasn't and then got bothered that people were chirping him. Sorry, Chet. You wanna troll then deal with the feedback.

We had our own fans last night talking about how the Flyers lacked grit, and this guy is terrible, etc. They disapeared after the Flyers turned it around.

Mike Richards had the Kings on his back in game 1
- Scottie Upshall

He's done that before. I never had a problem with Richards playoff performances at all and it doesn't shock me one bit that he had the game he did last night

Last night was amazing.

The Flyers came out and 18-28-68 had a strong first poop and then the ice was tilted in the Penguins favor for the rest of the period. The second period was pretty much even, back and forth, but the ice leveled out. The third period and overtime the ice was completely tilted in the Flyers direction! It was absolutely unbelievable to see this transpire as the game moved on.

To be honest, I think the first period ice being tilted in the Penguins direction was a direct result of the atmosphere in that stadium. The Penguins were fired up, hitting everyone and it almost seemed like the Flyers (other than Schenn) were just shell shocked by the stage. Boy did they recover!

Danny Briere. This guy is unbelievable. I can't ever remember a player who literally just flips a switch from game 82 to 83 in a season. It is remarkable to see.

Brayden Schenn was a man last night. Everyone after the game was saying Briere was the player of the game for the Flyers, but in my opinion it was absolutely Brayden Schenn. In his first NHL game he had a HUGE goal and two assists and he must have had 10 hits in that game. This kid lives for the playoffs and he is going to be a HUGE factor in this series.

Schenn-Briere-Simmonds are Leino-Briere-Hartnell of 2010. They are going to have a major impact on this series.

This is going to be one hell of a series but last nights game was great.

Exactly. It was the extra cross-check that got Rinaldo penalized (they let the first one go). Other players on both sides got away with extra shots before they skated away but Rinaldo never gets the benefit of the doubt because of his rep and by virtue of being a rookie.
- bmeltzer

It's funny how that punch to Schenn's face didn't turn into a penalty...funny in a very ridiculous sort of way.

Statistically speaking, teams that win the first game of a series go on to prevail in the series about 60 percent of the time. Then again, statistics show that the team that scores first in a game wins it better than 70 percent of the time. Teams that take three-goal leads win over 95 percent of the time.

teams that score in OT win 100% of the time.

Pretty amazing Schenn's first playoff game was his best game as a pro. As others pointed out he also made that tremendous stretch pass to Jagr that led to a breakaway. He could have had a four point night. He was also very physical and played with an edge.

Schenn2Shine!!

I loved his shift where he knocked one Pen down behind the net then took Cooke on and knocked Cooke on his ass.

That is the frustrating part. It's not like the officials aren't familiar with the guys who do it, either.

you know, you would think an official would be harder on the guys they know who dive.....you know the old fool me once, fool me twice adage......

I had no doubt that they'd make a game out of it last night. Hell I even confident that they'd get it tied, if not win it. They've been a great comeback team all year long. They've given no reason to doubt their resiliency and no reason to give up on them when there's an early hole to climb out of.

I mean, we'd all love it if they'd go out and lead tape to tape and get a 5-0 win. But, at the same time, you have to know by now that they're not going to stop skating, working and fighting.

- Jsaquella

yeah we were pretty confident as well -- I think Bryz played awesome!!

I hated watching that first period. I was hoping they could even make it a game at the end of period 1.
The whole game changed, I think, when Schenn humiliated Adams at the end of the period. He tried to lay him out, but instead bounced off Schenn, so he started chriping and tried to get Schenn to drop the gloves. Brayden skates away, next period flyers kick a$$.

So there are no details about Kubina's injury other than UBI? It'd be nice to get him healthy and back into the fold

Another note.. as expected, most of the media (especially in Canada) are focussing on the blown call for Briere's goal. Of course.. they ARE NOT even mentioning the blown icing call that lead directly to goal #3. Turnabout is fair play baby.

I figure you of all ppl will get a good chuckle out of this...

So last night I had pre-cana from 7-9. A co-worker is in out "class" and her fiance is a yinzer. We were talking (great guy) and i told him I was dvring the game and he said he didnt have dvr so he would be getting up dates but wouldnt tell me anything. The guy sitting in front of us over heard us talking and chimes in that he and his fiance are also from Pitt.. blah blah blah (typical ribbing from them on me). Anywho.. at about 915 the bumhole turns around and says very loudly... "3-0 Pens.. bet you didnt see that coming" I was so pissed bec the knucklehead knew I was dvring it.

Look who got the last laugh!
