I know it wasn't alot of shots but some of the saves one kick save in particular was really big. Also the caps did have a puck trickle just ever so wide of the net somewhere in the second period of a redirect. ITs not about the quantity of shots but the quality. - JoeRussomanno
To an extent. The playoffs are more then 1 game though and they need to sustain pressure in the offensive zone to wear down the Bruins. If the Bruins are on offense all night then by game 4 the Caps will have nothing left.

if they flame out in this round, which they will, we SHOULD see some big changes in the nation's capital. and i don't mean the government. - hammarby31
Blow it up. That team has no chemistry. Even when they are good during the regular season they dont have the makeup to be successful come playoff time. |

they have to. i think they had 121 points in the regular season in 2009 or 2010 and lost in the first round. they haven't advanced once to the conference final since they turned it around in boudreau's first season. 07 i think? |

True, also I hope the Senators give the rangers a series. I watched that until it was 3-0 then switched to the caps and bruins. My oh my the rags were taken it to the sens. Gotta give the rags credit someone has the puck in their zone, two rangers are on him period. You'd think ok someone's open but yea try finding that open guy with two on you, that and whoever plays them better have their transition game together because dayum do they not let you coast into the zone. Don't want to look ahead but if the flyers were to play them they better get used to the dump and chase game that we saw last night because that pretty no look pass at the blueline we saw all regular season will make it a 4-0 sweep for the rangers. |

How don't you just cross over the blue line and throw it at the net just to create something. The best play in hockey is: throwing the puck on net

unless they win a cup I think they can kiss semin goodbye and no I don't want to see him in a flyers uniform either. He's just not flyer material. Think they might actually have a goalie for the first time in a long time, that holtby has looked good for them. |

The way to beat the Rangers is to stay patient. They feed off of mistakes. |

I said pretty much the samething last night, it's a tactic Fred Shero used when they had to deal with Bobby Orr in the finals against Boston. - ob18

I was trying to find that record but didn't have any luck.
But how about this one?
Most shots on goal, one game: Raymond Bourque, 19 (Mar. 21, 1991)

They are man, starting to remind me of the devils from the 90's I am not about to live through another almost decade's worth of being owned by a divisional team in the regular season and playoffs Oh wait we have more than one line that can score and a goalie, not to mention a plethora of players who are in their early 20's and haven't even realized their potential, okay nevermind I'll save that rant for a calendar year later |

lots of stuff getting let go in this blues vs. sharks OT. These teams more resemble a rugby match when the play is in the offensive zone. |

absolutely, but Lavy preaches go go go go, not stay back and wait. I love lavy don't get me wrong, but if they are to regain dominance over that team, he needs to tweak some things. Hate to break this to people but yes, we had soft goals scored on us, but there was more to it than that. |

Thinking of slowing the game down...
Reminds me of Pronger this year when they played TB and he wouldnt move the puck up the ice until they challenged him.

I didn't have one problem with it. To me not forechecking through the game is like rushing with one man in football on third and fifteen. I just think there should always be at least one forechecker come on. |
