per @68jagr

Bryz is scared of bears. There were like 70 bears at the game! I wonder what would happen if he said he is scared of beautiful naked girls?!

- wilsonecho91

Why hasn't anyone thought of this yet? Bravo.

Those bear costumes were funny though. Those guys must have been so hot. The loser in the white bear suit was wearing a backpack.

You know what would really help. If you have a problem with another poster, ignore them. You don't call them out. You don't slyly criticize them to the other posters thinking you're being all clever. You don't engage in multipage pissing matches and then complain that the other guy won't stop arguing when in fact YOU won't stop arguing. It takes two to tango and there are way too many people here auditioning for Dancing with the Stars.

And if you are unhappy with the content of the thread, contribute something you consider worthwhile yourself.

That's what I said. except the ignore them part.... If you ignore them, they may never know they are doing something to annoy you. You just have to tell them in a way that its not ban worthy.

If everyone told the people that were annoying them that they were annoying them, there would be little to no room for actual hockey talk, which would be annoying in its own right.

Just thinking about it has annoyed me.

I just took a peek over at the Penguins site, and I am really upset with the Flyer fans there bashing the people in this thread. I'm going to exclude Nutter because he actually came in here and said what he thought, but the rest of them....

I mean, come on... I can see if you dont like certain posters and the way they get into debates... The easy answer is, don't debate with them. They keep referring to 1 poster that drags a conversation on for 3 pages. Well if its me, just say so. If its someone else say something to them. You guys are going into the penguins blog and whining about how we whine here...

I came to this site because the blogger is excellent, and its about the only place I can go to at work and have an almost "live" hockey conversation with my fellow flyers fans. I will talk just about anything hockey, and I wont see the team with rose color glasses just because they won a game. I wont love a player just because they scored a goal. If I want to discuss the merrit of a player on the team with another member of the board... So what? I thought that was what we were here to do.

I didn't realize this thread was just about laughs, videos, and funny pictures, not that I have a problem with them...

I dunno, rant over...

- RooNosHockey

Considering I was the one engaging a dialogue with Nutter, I assume you're taking issue with my posts. In referring to "one particular poster" I wasn't referring to you. Posts like that "MJL sense" one are a part of the problem here, though. A lot of, perhaps most of, the drama on this board is related to him, and for me to say he's combative or relentless or whatever would not be a shocker to most. It can't all be done by him, though. It takes two parties refusing to accept their point has been made to drag this poop out like we see. For all the complaints about how he can't accept that others disagree, others seem to display a reciprocal stubbornness.

It gets worse when anybody who agrees with him is regarded as some groupie. It's led to cliquishness at times here. People agree sometimes, and people disagree sometimes. It goes both ways. There's no reason why we can't have some damn civility about it, instead of snide remarks at the mention of particular players, as has gone on for years now.

It's not just one poster. That was what I was getting at. And if you want to blame one poster, whatever, but it's taken a group effort to drive away regulars the way we have.

And for the record, I wasn't posting it there because I was afraid to do so here or whatever. Nutter posted there, and I responded, it became a discussion.

Sorry for the disruption.

This is not to you but in general. The playoffs just started. Fantastic game last night and a big win for the Flyers. Why are we discussing this nonsense? Because a few posters want to bring it up? This is a great time. We've been waiting all Season for this. There is a epic Series (I think) for the ages going on. Let's talk Hockey.

I was freaking out, too. But I have a new next door neighbor and didn't want to be yelling like a nutso at 10:30 at night before I'd even met her.

There were 2 points during the game last night that changed its complexion.

1. Schenn at the end of the 1st. Somebody took a run at him with no time left, and Schenner decks him. Lots of momentum after that, and the Flyers really controlled the pace of the game after that.

2. Bryz's save in the middle of the second off of that turnover in the slot. That's a momentum save. That's why we pay him 51 mill. To make saves like that not only in the regular season, but when it really matters in the postseason. It really seemed like that deflated the Pens even more than they already were.
I'm just praying that they don't come out flat Friday....they'll get smashed even harder than they did last night....

I meant to comment on this too...

If I remember correctly, that was Coburn who turned the puck over. I thought Coburn owed Bryz a huge steak for that one. You could see Bryzgalov shaking his head after the whistle, in a 'WTF?' sort of way. I was cracking up.

YES!

Bryz turns around and places his stick on top of the net and shakes his head.

Key players who definitely turned the momentum of the game around. Schenn with his physical play. He was a leader last night. He led by example. Bryzgalov made some big saves even in the first and giving up 3. As well as saves that were certain game savers in the 2nd. As well as Briere, and the breakaway goal. Even though it was a blown call, he still potted it. Those are the main cogs who strapped the team on their back and pulled them through. That's not to omit other players, because it really was a team effort to get back in it and pull it out.
