I think Paul Martin is one sore mofo today. I think the Flyers did a great job finishing their checks at every opportunity. The Pens D will be banged up and the wear-and-tear that will force Orpick and leTang into logging more mins will be the Pens undoing. JMO - KINGKENZO
He did get worked over good. Wellwood is outstanding. I think our forward group is faster than any team in the playoff field. Then Pens D in particular stopped skating and competing yesterday.
I am very interested to see if Kubina or MAB will play.

This is very true. Kids don't meet up and hang out in person anywhere near as much as us boomers did back in the day. Heck, they don't even talk on the phone any more. It's all text and Facebook. - rockychocbill
Yep, and it doesn't teach social skills either.
I say this all while posting on a hockey message board.
I dont take opinions as personal attacks.. I like to debate. But I know an insult when I see one, and I also know when someone is being passive agressive with thier insults. - RooNosHockey
Yes. That also occurs on here.
Some people are more gifted in their ability to communicate what they're thinking than others. And they sense that and take advantage.
The best was the days when you cracked the last wiffle ball.. or lost the football, and you had to make something up. We made up so many great games.... God i miss those days! - jak521
The cracked wiffle balls wrapped in electrical or duct tape made awesome street hockey balls.
I had it the same way. Good god man, I guess that means I am going to be a hard-ass. My son turned 3 in March. He officially got his first chore: feed the god damned cats...he remembers to do it 3 or 4 days a week, and I don't hammer him on it when he doesn't remember (again he is barely 3) but he knows he has a job. He also willingly helps with weeding and gardening etc. because we make it fun. He isn't above a tantrum in target, but he knows damn well that a tantrum seals the deal against the result for which he was hoping.
As far as this place goes, I am here to talk hockey, get info on the team, and basically enjoy games in some way with other flyers fans. I live in Kentucky and before that it was Columbus OH and DC area. I am not in Flyer country (well Caps-Flyers games were basically Flyers home games when I lived in DC late 90s early 2000s) so it is good to enjoy game discussion with other fans with the same rooting interest. I also wise-crack. Half the time it may not make anyone other than me laugh, but there is some joy in cracking yourself up...bonus if someone else "gets it". I could give a damn about the debates. I'll engage up to a point but I already have a wife who just has to always get the last word in when we argue. I don't need that vibe here in hockeyland...which is ostensibly where I go to get my mind off such things. Its just a game. Whether the Flyers win or lose really has no impact on my life in the grand scheme so arguing about whether they should trade Carle or not really isn't worth too much of my time. Just my $0.02. - Lexington Flyer
What part of the DC area. I was thinking about moving out to Silver Springs. Right around the Glenmont station on the Metro. My wife goes to school there, and I have been spending a lot of time there... 20 minutes on the metro to DC, and you could eat out at a nice resturant every night of the week for an entire year without going to the same place twice... Only problem I can see with the area is traffic is awful durring rush-hour.. and the charge 5 cents per plastic bag.

I fear I may not have a dog in the race that is this discussion. Or rather, I feel like I've got stake in both sides, the young tech savvy side and the tech disillusioned older crowd. MixedPheelingsPhan87 - BulliesPhan87

hell yea they did. I also learned how to cut strips off old tires, then crazy glue them together, made on whack hockey puck I can tell you that. When the thing has enough and breaks into pieces and one goes in the net it's a goal

This describes me to a point too even though I'm 48. I've been involved with tech and media stuff since the mid 90's and I like to keep up to date as much as possible. This helps me to relate to what my boys are doing. Heck I do most of the tech troubleshooting in our house. I may never join Twitter but I'll keep with the tech bandwagon into the retirement home.
No no. MJL is the group "wife". Can't live with him. Can't pee standing up. Loves to argue like a mofo but lord knows I ain't figuring out that salary cap poop. - Lexington Flyer

Or thecontract language besides I agree with most of what MJL says and even when I don't I love how he debates, can't say I've ever seen him take a stance without some ammo that's for sure.
Another thing, aren't we all fans of the same team? Shouldn't that make us all buds by default

I don't know if it's destroying society. It's certainly helping, though. Hope springs eternal in the human breast, regardless. At least, I think it does.
Arguing isn't debating, or discussing. It's annoying. - funmaster18
No, you're annoying!
Now for some HB style debate:
Carle sux. SO tired of his continual soft play and primary assists on playoff OT goals. Dude is worthless and if you do not agree you are a complete moron with no redeeming value to society, and you clearly do not understand hockey to the same depth and complexity that I do. Shame on you for not being as awesomely wise, and unerringly correct as I am. Oh, and don't try to toss around some silly stats or real examples. I know a sucky player when I see one and Carle sux. End of story.
