I expect the 15th reaction for a win may be a little more crazy than that one..

Was so happy for the Phils in '08 but nothing could compare to watching the hoist that thing over their heads in early June. I wasn't alive in 75.

I saw that Had to go back and read was bored Anyway from the reading though it seemed as if a team, especially the Flyers, had never come back from a deficit I mean I'm as die hard as any other Flyer fan but even I'll admit the Pens are more talented doesn't mean the Flyers can't win either. However that being said, you had to know at some point in this series, there was going to be a multiple point lead by Pittsburgh. Would rather not start the series that way but considering the result, I think it paid dividends.

This is a young team, and I'm starting to write the slow starts off to that. I think even Simmonds might have butterflies in the beginning. That will go away with time. What really matters is they know how to finish the game. The strong starts will come. Just wish people would stop acting like its the end of the world when the tide of battle is in the other teams favor, all the time.

- JoeRussomanno

I'm going to disagree with this statement... I think Pittsburg has most of it's talent jammed into 5-6 players, but the Flyers have the same amount of talent, but spread out into 9-10 players.

Lukin left for a reason.

Butsy left because he didnt like how some posters were being treated on here and the constant "debating".

There's many factors of course but imo it's largely due to the changing of generations in the workplace and the new generation coming to the realization that they're not going to have it as good as their parents did. Everything is so freaking expensive now and even with the minimum wage being increased, is still poop for for most folks. This is why you get kids like those here in Vancouver that feel the need to riot "against the man". That, and a general decline in decency, politeness and courtesy in general.
- rockychocbill

Just for a thought from somebody in that generation.

There is a hate brewing for the baby boomers. That we will be having to suffer for their debt. Everyone is for themselves trying to get ahead and survive. Doing whatever it takes, and screwing the next guy. There is a thought out there that if you work hard you will have money for what you need.

Working hard today means working 60 hours a week just to support a family. At least for the younger generation while they are trying to get established. Life shouldnt HAVE to be that way so that a few idiots can get mega rich. Thats modern slavery.

To get back to the point, I think too many people need to prove that they are "the best".

That last part is scarily too true. IMo I think the difference is the newer generations don't understand the meaning of working for what you get. I see other parents getting their kids the newest cellphones, ipads etc. I see young kids throwing themselves on the floor in target cause mom won't buy the toy they want and then the parent caves in. Those practices imo instills a sense of entitlement. Even when my own kids complain, kindly remind them, when I was your age your grandparents had me cutting grass, pulling weeds, splitting stacking firewood, yes I did all that by the age of 10. When I see a 12 year old kid sit on the porch while grandmom cuts the grass, that makes me shake my head. I guess what I'm saying is the raising of young people imo has taken a drastic change and I don't think it's for the best.

I wasn't here but I get what you're saying. I come here to share ideas and learn sometimes even I lose sight of that. But I won't say I'm always right and that wining arguments is what matters. I'll stick to my guns until someone convinces me otherwise.

I think driving is a good example of that. I just love people that have to pull out and race ahead of you only to turn right at the next light. Oooooh you're a genius for getting around goody two shoes, speed limit obeying little me so you can get to where you're going 10 seconds sooner. Sheesh.

Hopefully the Flyers start making home ice really work to their advantage if so, a win on Friday could be devastating for the pens.

See this is where I will take a stand. As a part of that younger generation at age 21.

Who raised those kids? Is it the 15 year olds fault that his parents didnt raise him differently? Or is he learning from how he was brought up. I worked with inner city youth for a long number of years. Parenting is the number one reason.

Working for what you want is a great lesson. However having to work 60 hours a week just to get by so you can raise a family? So some rich ass CEO can make millions? Thats modern slavery and people are stupid to accept that. The 40 hour work week is coming to an end.

I agree with this for the most part but not hate for the baby boomers. The generations that came before mine, paid their dues and mine should do the same. Especially the generation that came before them and so on.

I mean they had vietnam, WWII, the great depression. What did we have? Yea 9-11 was hell for about a year. But that was nothing like the struggles of the prior generations. We got debt? I say so what. Buck up stop spending money on stupid stuff, enjoy your life, be thankful and good times will come, but you have to work toward it.

my bump of gunky's let's go flyers chant between the first and second period was the difference maker, imo
- funmaster18

Of course? And someone unwisely criticized ggunky early yesterday questioning that being his "only" contribution. First of all, he does post other things. But most importantly, that is his role on this team. And he plays it with passion and grit!

It was a much better place here about 3 years ago... Its frustrating how the fun has been sucked out of here.

This used to be a place where Flyers fans came to chat and pass time.. communicate during games, and share (respectfully, and without condescending tones) opinions. Now everything is a (frank)ing argument. Poster A cant say ___ about player B without Poster B feeling the need to chime in. Guys have axes to grind with certain posters and its tough to enjoy this place.

I remember when OB18, FF16, Butsy, Lukin, and a bunch of others were here. That was a fine group!
