You know.

I will be honest. I am at fault to a degree but this board has gone downhill the last few seasons. Compared to the first couple years when I joined.

Very little personality left, so robotic, and people obsessed with proving that they are right.

Gotta say one thing real quick. You guys who hung in there last night and didn't go all chicken little, have my props. Actually a ranger fan included in this as I believe it was at the end of page 37 I read him giving a pep talk. I know was worried and dissappointed but man I didn't bail and start pointing fingers. That's not how you dig out of a hole, thankfully the team and coaches know this.

I'm cool with calling it even. So then the players decided who won, not the officials. As far as the rest, that's a matter of opinion. And really proves my point.

I've stayed out of this up till now... Do Flyers fans... and all fans of all teams.. Think the Ref's target them unfairly? Yes. Is there some truth to it in the Flyers case, based on my opinion and the opinion of non-flyer fans, Yes. We might take it a little far, but I have heard from more then 1 non-Flyers fan say that we get calls agaisnt us more easily then other teams. This comes from both a Vancouver fan from Vancouver, and a Rangers fan, not to mention non-hockey fans that watch the game ocasionally. As a matter of fact, my Ranger fan friend coined the phase that it's Ref policy; "When in doubt, call a penality on the Flyers." Meaning 2 players go down, and the Ref isnt sure how... Call a penality on the Flyers...

Who know's why it happens... Is it subconscious? Is it a league conspiricy? Have the Flyers just had the most undiciplined team since the league founded? Who knows... Why do cops pull over red cars more often?

But I'm tired of Ref apologists. There is no accountablility for these Refs and people always make excuses for them. There is no consistancy in thier calls. It's like the Refs get together before a game and decide whether they need to call a lot of penalities or a few... Sure would be nice if they let the players know before the game... "Hey boys... we're going to call it tight today, so mind your P's and Q's." Or "It's your game boys, keep it clean and we will stay out of your way." I wish the league would have video review and suspensions for the Refs just like they do the players..

Crazy era. I was 17 at the time and remember going to watch the New Westminster Bruins routinely do the same thing in the WHL. Pure mayhem.

vždycky tak negatívne

Theres a point to that.

However while I may bring negativity, I do not come here with the intention of looking to prove I am right or to debate.

That video was too similar to the end of Slapshot guess maybe that movie wasn't such a satire after all

my bump of gunky's let's go flyers chant between the first and second period was the difference maker, imo

It has it's moments, but like Nutter said, it's on the decline imo. Seems like every 6 months or so we lose some more good posters. I can name at least a dozen since I've been on board. I know nothing stays the same forever (except death and taxes) but it's pretty hard to get a laugh out of folks these days.

Nope. It was me. When ever I wear my Flyers Jersey at home and Put up my Flashing Lets go Flyers light, they lose... Every once in a while I think... Nah, just being supersticious.. But then the first Period happened and a yanked off my Jersey, and shut the light off... What a difference it made.

I saw that Had to go back and read was bored Anyway from the reading though it seemed as if a team, especially the Flyers, had never come back from a deficit I mean I'm as die hard as any other Flyer fan but even I'll admit the Pens are more talented doesn't mean the Flyers can't win either. However that being said, you had to know at some point in this series, there was going to be a multiple point lead by Pittsburgh. Would rather not start the series that way but considering the result, I think it paid dividends.

This is a young team, and I'm starting to write the slow starts off to that. I think even Simmonds might have butterflies in the beginning. That will go away with time. What really matters is they know how to finish the game. The strong starts will come. Just wish people would stop acting like its the end of the world when the tide of battle is in the other teams favor, all the time.

Lukin left for a reason.

Butsy left because he didnt like how some posters were being treated on here and the constant "debating".

There's many factors of course but imo it's largely due to the changing of generations in the workplace and the new generation coming to the realization that they're not going to have it as good as their parents did. Everything is so freaking expensive now and even with the minimum wage being increased, is still poop for most folks. This is why you get kids like those here in Vancouver that feel the need to riot "against the man". That, and a general decline in decency, politeness and courtesy in general.
