Hard for him to have a shift and not take a penalty. How can you play a guy like that? He brings energy and physicality but his discipline is not there.
Flyers cant afford to give PP chances because sooner or later the Pens are going to burry those chances. |

Even if he isn't really guilty on plays, he has a target on his back. |

Possibly. I don't think Kubina is really all that healthy of a "healthy scratch". - bmeltzer
that's what i thought. i'm ready to see what kubina has. hopefully it's enough to be better than what gustafsson has. i can't imagine he'd go with 7 dmen and take them both, and sit a 4th line forward. |

pendulum swing, schenn had a heck of a game, but behind the scenes i saw hartnell like a wrecking ball on the pens d-fence during there massive forecheck onslaught, every time he was on the ice and the puck was dumped i saw hartsey creaming guys.
not sure whats up with giroux, but he needs to get it goin.
if jagr would have scored on his break away, i would have soild my pants, i think that was also schenn who passed it to him.
awesome game, was like a great dream, cant wait till friday |

I thought he was guilty on his penalty tonight. This team has no problem getting energized let alone against the Pens. |

That was a legitimate call, but refs see Rinaldo's number and they tend to give very little leeway. |

Any chance the Flyers dress another forward over Rinaldo? I dont mind having him in the lineup but anything he does turns into a penalty. |

Last night was amazing.
The Flyers came out and 18-28-68 had a strong first poop and then the ice was tilted in the Penguins favor for the rest of the period. The second period was pretty much even, back and forth, but the ice leveled out. The third period and overtime the ice was completely tilted in the Flyers direction! It was absolutely unbelievable to see this transpire as the game moved on.
To be honest, I think the first period ice being tilted in the Penguins direction was a direct result of the atmosphere in that stadium. The Penguins were fired up, hitting everyone and it almost seemed like the Flyers (other than Schenn) were just shell shocked by the stage. Boy did they recover!
Danny Briere. This guy is unbelievable. I can't ever remember a player who literally just flips a switch from game 82 to 83 in a season. It is remarkable to see.
Brayden Schenn was a man last night. Everyone after the game was saying Briere was the player of the game for the Flyers, but in my opinion it was absolutely Brayden Schenn. In his first NHL game he had a HUGE goal and two assists and he must have had 10 hits in that game. This kid lives for the playoffs and he is going to be a HUGE factor in this series.
Schenn-Briere-Simmonds are Leino-Briere-Hartnell of 2010. They are going to have a major impact on this series.
This is going to be one hell of a series but last nights game was great. |

And you are sitting on 4 dangerous lines. Deepest team in the playoffs offensively. |

It was a weak ass call, as was the one on Giroux. I wish a ref would have the balls to give out the unsportsmanlike call when guys embellish. |

With the Phantoms being knocked out of the playoffs, I would love to see Matt Ford get a chance in the playoffs. |

One very telling thing was that Laviolette was trying to get Briere's line out against Crosby in the third period and OT.
Imagine that in 2008 or 2009 |

Given the stuff that was let go, it was a soft call. Still legitimate, though. The call on Giroux was a joke. |

Anybody notice the look on Cyndy's face after Grossman hammered him after his goal. |

Once they got through that first period with no calls, the whistles should have just stayed in their pockets unless something outrageous happened. |

Lilja was fabulous. Wellwood was skating as well as Voracek. I think Read was a bit wide-eyed. There were times where he shouldv'e ramped up his speed but didn't. |

edit Bill timetable for JVR or Mez - Scottie Upshall
It was awesome -- never gave up. I just got on so I haven't read any comments on either boards yet, but are the Pens fans crying about Briere being offsides? |

Another note.. as expected, most of the media (especially in Canada) are focussing on the blown call for Briere's goal. Of course.. they ARE NOT even mentioning the blown icing call that lead directly to goal #3. Turnabout is fair play baby. - Hextall271
And look at the creativity, that Crosby showed, when he dumped the puck on the backboard! |
