Game 2 isn't a "house money" game, but the pressure is clearly on the Penguins. If the Flyers can somehow figure out a way to score first, the Pens might start gripping their sticks pretty tight.
- PLindbergh31

Agree, but the edge the Flyers have is that if they can avoid back-to-back losses in the remaining games, they'll win the series. When you drop game one, you are basically looking at a scenario of having to win three of the next four to grab the upper-hand. The Penguins are certainly capable of doing that, but the Flyers' comeback last night put them in a good spot.

Hopefully the Flyers start making home ice really work to their advantage if so, a win on Friday could be devastating for the pens.

He played a fantastic overall game last night in every aspect.

I was telling the TV that Schenn needs to see more ice time, double shift him!

I like when the TV lends an ear for me.

At least in the playoffs you tend to have more real hockey fans in the stands. Although if anyone starts talking about the shootout someone may have to come bail me out.

Bill I tweeted you last night about Carle putting the puck on net.. but I never mentioned the Hartnell slap pass on Schenns goal. Talk about a thing of beauty. A rocket of a pass that seemed to almost hover a hair off the ice the entire way to Schenns blade. Amazing!

wow these nhl network clowns are pissing me off. they said the flyers got the breaks. are you fing serious? 3 pps to 1. the icing goal was far more blatant than briere's offside goal. every icing call went their way except 1 where coburn maybe didn't hustle enough. they got away with many offsides and tons of should have been called penalties. what a joke

Thanks.

People tend to use their tix in the playoffs, rather than sell them to whomever. And if you have any sense, you don't bring little kids to playoff games. And most people have sense. So there's not a lot of filtering of language like there is in the regular season. The four to my right will not be the kids and 'rents. The kids stay home. The 'rents sell the 2 extras. And we all grind like Flyers.

Am worried that with Mimi in Jamaica I may have a yinzer on the left. Please GOD let it be a Flyer fan.

No doubt about it. The playoffs is all about avoiding two losses in a row. Very difficult to win a series when you lose two games in a row at any point.

To be expected, especially after the Pens gave up a 3 goal lead... It's not that the Flyers are a very good team, there has to be some other explanation.

I was amused by the "experts" who actually blamed Grossmann for the Crosby goal. All he did "wrong" was that Crosby found the puck first, a fraction of a second after the initial blocked shot. The play was on Coburn's side, where Grossmann had correctly rotated and then blocked a shot. Not sure what he was supposed to do differently there.

The Dupuis goal was just one of those fluky plays.

Overall, I thought Grossmann took a pounding early and was clearly getting targeted because he's right off an injury -- no complaints there, and all of the hits he took were clean ones. It was also his first game back and had only skated twice since the injury, so his timing was a little bit off. Should also be mentioned that he not been in a playoff series since 2008 and this was his first game since signing the big contract extension (so the adrenaline/nerves were probably a little higher than normal -- it is a game played by humans).

Along with Coburn, Grossmann settled in very nicely as the game went along.

it's ridiculous. anything they can do to spin things to make the pens look good and the flyers look bad. i mean they barely even mentioned the bullpoop icing goal the pens got. also at full speed briere looked onside, only when you slow it down does it become obvious that he was in fact off side

It would be funny to see a bunch of nuck fans show up with posters listing the address and names of the establishments willing to entertain that! Be a heckuva advertisement for them too.

The Flyers got a huge break on the Briere goal. But really, who give a rats ass what the NHL network guys say? Tons of penalties they got away with? Every icing call went their way? C'mon, seriously. For the most part is was a well officiated game. Both teams got breaks. The players decided the game. The only thing that matters is the final score. And the Flyers won the game. Everything else is BS.

No Briere didn't look onsides at full speed. He was clearly offside regardless of what speed you watch at. I was flabbergasted when they missed that it was so obvious. Flyers got a huge break there. If that's called offsides do the Flyers come back in the game? I have my doubts.

I mentioned it here at the time. It truly was a great play. He knew what he wanted to do and he put it in the perfect spot.
