Way offsides? Maybe a stride? I need a snapshot to see just how bad it is. I'm convinced that about a quarter of the entries into the offensive zone are offside to one degree or another.

And it's karma to make up for the icing that wasn't icing that lead to a bad goal.

- wolfhounds

He was about a stride and a half over the line before the puck hit the blue line, but the fact that the Pens just rolled over made all the difference in the final outcome.

The refs didn't affect the outcome of this game. They rarely do. It's just an excuse.

I don't know why Danny was trying to beat the puck over the line, but I'm glad he did.

Dude please. You must know by now that only Bryz gives up softies. With other goalies, those are just bad bounces, or bad luck. Do I have to explain everything to you?

I thought Bryz was great the entire game. That third goal was just a strange one IMO.

Yes and going back to a much previous conversation, I think Reese has done a great job with him!

poop. I didn't think it was anywhere near that bad. The puck catches up to Briere pretty fast.

Still, I don't feel like we got an unfair break, something the Penguins didn't get. Anybody else feel that way?

True. There was one horrible call each way that led to a goal, so the canceled each other out tonight. I would say the reffing was not all that good overall, but it did not decide the outcome by any stretch.

Well yea I mean they got a call of an icing then oh wait they can score here nevermind its not Icing. and the Giroux penalty was really lame. I can live with the Rinaldo penalty but then the same thing happens to Schenn at the end of the period and notta. Oh well we won that's all that matters.

It's a pretty raw deal, but it definitely didn't make or break the game. The Pens still had a 2 goal lead after that goal.

It was all on the Pens for breaking down defensively and getting too cute, coupled with the Flyers never-say-die attitude that swayed this game, not the refs.

I think when it happens to go against Flyers at some point we'll just be thankful we got our own break in this game. It turned out to be pretty big

No way. You're way off on that.

EDIT: Apparently not. My bad.

- wolfhounds

the blueline is 1ft wide. he looks like he's over by no more than 2 feet from his right skate. if the flyers win the cup this year, it will be payback for 1980.

It was a very bad missed call. But so was the non-icing that led to a goal for the Pens. Two missed calls, both of which led to goals, no advantage to either team from the poor officiating.

I thought the reffing was ... acceptable. It wasn't bad. The icing was clearly waved off (as seen in the TSN replays), but the crowd must've deafened Coburn to hearing it. It wasn't like the refs said it was icing and then decided not to call it.

It comes down to the Flyers capitalizing on the PP and the Pens going 0-3 on it.

All I can say is when a noncall on an icing or offside happens then yea usually a goal is coming.

Would really like to stop with these bad starts and yes Bryzgalov stopped the bleeding which is what the elite goalies do.

Yeah, honestly, I didn't think it was anywhere near that bad. Maybe a step in, not a body.

The teams are very similar. The Pens stopped hitting after the 1st...kinda took their foot off the Flyers throats. IMO.

I think the non-offsides was a lot worse than the non-icing ... it led directly to a goal, whereas the non-icing play still required the Flyers to fumble the puck in their own zone, plus get a strange bounce to get past Bryz.
