gagne would magically reappear and score multiple OT goals.
- hammarby31

richards would score as many goals as he had in the reg season in one series and carter would block half the flyers shots with his feet without breaking a bone

ok, so what do we think the first period of game 2 is like?
- hammarby31

I think with the first game out of the way for a bunch of the rookies, and for the team itself, they'll be better. But I still expect a 10 minute storm to weather.

But seriously if you watched this team just for this season, going down in games shouldn't be a big deal! They play to the buzzer. And fwiw that third goal shouldn't have been because it came off a non icing call.
- JoeRussomanno

And Briere's first goal was way offsides. So we'll call it even. But your right Joe, the game is at least 60 minutes. Not 20.

We could go on and on. There is looking at the game accurately, and there is complete and total overreactions. Such as scapegoating players such as Lilja sucks. And talking about player moves for next Season in the middle of a playoff game because the team lacks grit.
- MJL

I agree. I thought Lilja did a nice job the entire game. His partner MAB was not very good tonight and that put him in a bad spot.

MAB was outmatched IMO and you need to play Kubina next game.

Bryz knew he couldnt give up another for the team to have a chance and he shut the door on every other opportunity. Amazing game from him after the first period.
- stveshdy

That 1st goal by Crosby was a ridiculous shot, I don't think any goalie could have stopped that shot. Bryz played his angles well and actually seemed pretty comfortable in net, wasn't wasting movement.

I'd still rather see Kubina in for the next game. MAB didn't look great, although I felt Lilja was solid other than his decision-making on Kennedy's goal.
- LordStanley88

Kubina was scratched because he is still fighting an injury (per Tocchet). It's not a lock that he's ready to go by Friday, but you'd have to assume he'd be in if he's healthy.

In addition to getting hurt, MAB didn't play all that well tonight. Certainly if he can go, I'd rather have Kubina out there than MAB.

Bryz was outstanding. Game 2 he will have to be even better cause Pitts cant afford to go down 2-0 in the series.

the back ice had his arm raised. then the near linesman waived it off, the only problem is that he was on the other side of the ice and well behind the play. coburn can't see him because he's facing the boards and bryz is watching the puck, and i'm sure it was loud as hell down there.

i think the pens might actually take a more cautious approach. this game wasn't nearly as chippy as i thought it would be. will be interesting to see how it goes down.

I'm kinda dissapointed in someone very close to me, and if he's reading this I don't care. We grew up together watching the FLyers and when one of us couldn't watch the game, we would sit on the phone for the WHOLE GAME (really was a nuisance to our parents b/c call waiting still wasnt popular) when one of us couldn't watch the game giving play by play to the other, now ALL OF A SUDDEN he's gotta whine and cry about how much better the penguins are, even though the Flyers won the season series. Through the game I got about a half dozen texts whining and complaining, basically wip on my phone. Now the Flyers won and he can't even text me back, wtf is with that?

Honestly, I think the Flyers team defense is overall better then the Pens. I didn't think the Pens D did a very good job of keeping the Flyers off the porch, Jake was basically left alone with Letang and Staal just guarding ice by each side of the net.

Bryz has to be better in game 2, but I'm not overly impressed with the Pen d-men.
