For a rookie don't you think he's a hell of a player already. To think how rough a start to the year he had.
- LJF

I think he is a very strong player in some areas. But I think as we saw tonight, that he can be the best player on the ice.

Since the winter classic he really waxed confident in the NHL game. Loving where he's at now.

It's easy to see how he gets compared to Mike Richards, even before they were traded for each other. Schenn's game lends itself to playoff hockey IMO.

Bush league move by Weber.

It's the playoffs, and he didn't even hit him that hard. I have no problem with it. Get him back next game, that's the beauty of a 7 game series

Long time reader, first time poster...

I just couldn't help wondering if Bill is going to blog heavily about the Flyers propensity for comebacks after slow starts?

That could cost him and the Preds big time. Hard to see how that's not going to draw some sort of supplementary discipline.

(especially since he's not a Penguin)

Really, really stupid play. The game was over, they won, and he may have just took himself out of 1+ games.

Bryz in the post game interview: "thank hockey gods"

he always has those furrowed brows where you're not sure if he actually understands the question.

- FlyerGuy

He is very good with the English. But he's still hearing and translating into Russian then thinking up his answer and translating into English. The transition to just thinking in English is a toughie.

The Pens have to be emotionally reeling, they just can't put this team away. No lead is safe for them, these guys just keep grinding.

Schenn is teetering on the edge of being a very good hockey player. It's rare to see a rookie who had such a slow start due to injuries really get his game going and progressing better and better as the season ended and into the playoffs.

Agreed. And to reply to MJL's comment: I'm glad he's working on his physical game first. That tends to be the hardest part of the rookie's transition. Let him get his physical game up to snuff and the offense will just flow in as he grows more comfortable. Schenn/Simmonds-Richie trade looks better every game.....

Crosby won't let that happen. He will be a monster next game, and the Pens will come out hard. The Flyers need to be ready.

It was definitely bailing like they were on the Titanic. Not by all.

You did not see bailing on my part. Look it up Mr. Fact Checker man. I'm all in.

i believe there was a play in the 2nd half of the game where schenn hammered malkin in the far corner and took him off the puck. it was (frank)ing fantastic.

Some were frustrated. But some were bailing after one period. They don't have enough grit. Seriously. This team has tons of grit!
- MJL

"You cool, considerate men. You hang to the rear on every issue so that if we should go under, you'll still remain afloat!" - John Adams, 1776

No grit in most of the fanbase. Easier to just feast on their flaws than celebrate their effort. Gutless.

They have to at least have a little doubt, this Flyer team will just keep coming. I respect Crosby, but these games when you lose will shake some confidence, maybe not the stars, but I would say some of the grinders. I really thought the Flyers really controlled the Pens D below the goal line in the offensive zone.
