it certainly does not, but it's beyond irritating to have the first period of game 1 unfold the way it did. beyond predictable. the non-icing call that turned into a bad goal with under a minute to go was the icing on the cake. lot of time left, and they've shown they can rebound. we'll see. they need to be much, much better. stating the obvious. - hammarby31
Bad break on that goal. Looked like Bryz tried to poke check it and the puck went off Grossmann and into the net. Oh well two periods left to tie it up. |

Yea I wouldn't mind seeing the Flyers win this series. Love the fire Schenn showed. The rest of the team should take notice. |

He did a nice job one on one with Crosby late in the period as he poke checked the puck away. His partner put him in terrible position all period. MAB was terrible with his passing. - stveshdy
Neither of them should be on the ice when Crosby's out there, to their defense. |

boom, schenn was (frank)ing poop up. I thought more Flyers would of followed suit - bigmookalookie

The game is not over. Not even close.
That doesn't change the fact that they were awful that period. If you think Lilja-Bourdon played well that period, then good for you. They didn't. It's not scape-goating anybody. I'll name others that were equally as bad. The entire team is at fault for that period.
And on a side note, anyone who's chirping Bryz right now can (frank) off. - mochoson
None of the goals were Bryz's fault. BUT........He needs to do a better job of bailing out the poor defensive coverage.

Repeatedly mentioning the same player when there is a whole host of mistakes made, is indeed scapegoating.
Grossmann and Coburn were tremendous that period!

That we can agree on but it happens. The Pens outplayed the Flyers that period that simple. |

How about the great shutdown pair of Coburn and Grossmann who were on for 2 goals against that period? But let's call out the 3rd pair veteran. - MJL
Grossmann blocks a shot and the puck drops right to Crosby... and then the puck bounces around out front off grossmann.... 2 flukey plays in my book. Why you blaming him. At least on the Kennedy goal you can clearly see the defensive break down... |

If I were the Pens, in game 1 I would send a message. Once that is achieved, things will settled down. The messge is: You don't belong on the same ice with us, series matchups be damned. Have to commend one team for achieving their objective. |

Calling out players and scapegoating a player is over reacting. The game is not over. - MJL
Good on you MJL for standing up and being a die hard Flyer fan. We all sincerely hope the flyers turn it around starting now. A loss by one goal or by 10 goals is still a loss. This is quite common in playoffs for home teams to come out smokin but it is a seven game series so get ready Flyer fans for the long haul. |

For the next five periods it's going to be a distinct possibility though, unless we shorten the bench. |

MAB taking hits every time he passed it last period...
Flyers need to take the body more. It's the playoffs, the time to hit people after they let it go is slightly longer. |

If....and this is a HUGE if....the Flyers eventually tie this game up, they'll win the series.
Doesn't mean they won't win the series if they don't win tonight, but I'm confident in saying if they somehow pull this out, they'll be so far in the Pens' heads it'll be ridiculous. And the Flyers' confidence will be sky high.
Hey...I can dream.
This may be because I'm listening to The Gunner's Dream by Pink Floyd. It's the mindset right now
Win the period. Just the period. Get one in the first 10 and all of a sudden this game has a slightly different complexion.
Come on fellas. The butterflies are gone.

I thought we might see a replay of the icing wave-off. I guess the Pens already destroyed that tape.

Yes. The Flyers are also chasing at times for the big hit. Let it come naturally dont force it cause you will make mistakes. |

Flyers can't complete a pass to save their lives right now. They're lucky when they can clear the zone at this point, let alone put the puck on someone's stick. |
