lol yeah... We won't get much for him, but I'd like for him to get a chance somewhere in the NHL... Maybe Columbus would be right for him? - laughs2907
Yup... for their 2nd pick.

He definitely sounds like more of a leader than the others to me. He seems like someone who wouldn't mind being the voice in the locker room. - laughs2907
Yeah Hall seems a little too emotional for it, and RNH & Eberle are more quiet lead-by-example types. Gagner just has the right mix of maturity and passion. |

Yeah, there's no way Hall becomes captain... Did you see the post-season comments on the Oilers site? If not, you should check them out. |

you hope there arent people like me, who dont cry and make excuses when my team misses the playoffs and clearly accepts the fact they simply werent good enough? ya dont like the 3 point games or loser points, its simple, win more games, or better yet just the last 2 ya lost to the sharks, then its Stars 93pts and Sharks 92pts. The system isnt flawed or broken, accept to the teams who sit on the bubble each year. Get over it. I would say i hope there arent too many fans in dallas like you but judging from the empty seats at the stars games all year i dont have to worry about that. Quit yer damn crying already, it is what it is, changing it doesnt mean the stars make the playoffs every year. - ruttager17
Those attendance jokes are really starting to hurt my feelings. I hope you realize neither of us have control on wether or not people show up to oilers/stars games. I can't force people to go. I never cried once about not making the playoffs, simply stated the fact that based on wins the stars should have made it, but because of the flawed system we didnt. Not to mention you were the one that brought up the stars and the playoffs. Thanks for validating my previous post about you, feels good to put 16 year olds in their place. |

I see I've picked the wrong time to bring up swapping Eberle for a top D. When all the Eberle supporters are around.
My luck
Like I said, I don't want him gone. But if you can get a proven, franchise type defenseman whose in the right age range, you have to at least consider it. - Jack-artist
I'm with you. It would be a tough decision and an unpopular move but depending on the D man coming back it might be for the best. Having Yakupov to play in Eb's spot makes it easier too.
Would you do Eberle for a signed Suter? I would if Suter was 2 or 3 years younger. Maybe a deal like that comes up down the road? Hard to not at least *consider* offers on 1 of our top young forwards if a top d man is offered in return. |

You're starting to scare me... I just realized that I would take that deal if we had Yak... but I'd rather trade Yak then Ebs. |

I'd prefer a guy on an ELC like Eberle or second contract, but I'd definitely consider that deal if NSH signs him first to a non-outrageous deal. Having 14 on an ELC, and farther away from UFA is good for us, but it also makes him extremely attractive to other teams. That's if, and big if, he's even available and no one in their right mind should make him available without accepting an overpayment. |

Sounds like Tambo is very willing to listen to the offers... Obviously for a ransome... I am not so sure you trade a Pavel Bure potential though...or do you and for what exactly?? |

What a perfect season... team improves to the 2nd tier or crappy teams, dont finish last by a mile like CBJ did the this year, and still get the 1st pick.
- robin_steele264
I think that's a little busted to be honest. In my opinion, likelihood to get the first overall should be determined by points, not simply standings.
Hypothetically, if the bottom five teams all ended with 70 points, the 30th place team would be 40% more likely to get the 1st overall then a team with an identical number of points. Conversely, a team who got 52 points on the season is perhaps only 40% more likely than a team who got 83 points.\ |

(frank) just through some money at Suter is all you need... talk to him 1st... get Horcoff to take a vid there to showcase some of Etowns finest and all of a sudden - BOOM he signs with the oil! nothing but glory days thereafter... |

I wonder if Gagner or Hemmer and our 2nd would grab us Lucic? We need a big bruiser who can put some numbers up and scrap. |

Problem with trading Ebs is he's shown he's NHL capable. Not merely capable, but very good. Yakupov, assuming they take him, is not yet. His potential is definitely there, but he could be Stefan or Daigle for all we know. Way way way too premature to just assume he immediatly and without issue has A)NHL game and B) chemsitry with our existing players. That's why you wait unless something extraordinairy is offered. |
