I guess it's my fault for this argument. I shouldn't have tried to explain to someone who's still in high school about a broken and flawed system. I hope there aren't many fans like you, or people in general, in Edmonton. You maturity level and intelligence level are frightening. - NoobasaurusRex
you hope there arent people like me, who dont cry and make excuses when my team misses the playoffs and clearly accepts the fact they simply werent good enough? ya dont like the 3 point games or loser points, its simple, win more games, or better yet just the last 2 ya lost to the sharks, then its Stars 93pts and Sharks 92pts. The system isnt flawed or broken, accept to the teams who sit on the bubble each year. Get over it. I would say i hope there arent too many fans in dallas like you but judging from the empty seats at the stars games all year i dont have to worry about that. Quit yer damn crying already, it is what it is, changing it doesnt mean the stars make the playoffs every year. |

Why their pick has a tonne less pressure on him... just has to play their game with far less media... this is not the tyler versus taylor or Landeskog vs Nuge... no 1a or 1b picks here... or according to most... most meaning bad Bob Mac. - saskoil21
That's why it's bad. They dropped from 1 to 2 in a year where the talent dropoff from 1 to 2 is larger than most years. |

Its true. Although the draft doesnt go incredibly deep, the highend talent in the draft is higher then years past.
If looking for a forward, any of Forsberg, Galchenyuk, Yakupov or Grigorenko will give you a future allstar. As well as the defencemen all being very strong potential top 2's. Except Dumba, im worried about him. He is a little small for the way he plays.
Forsberg will be a steal if he falls to 4-5-6. As a swede you will be getting someone who works hard every night and never gives up (Alfredsson, Lundqvist, Sundin, Sedin's). A character guy on the first line. Whereas Russians, (im excluding Yakupov in this one) like Grigorenko tend to have moments of giving up (Ovechkin, Kovalev, Kovalchuk, Malkin, etc.)
Galchenyuk is american... but he seems to be so incredibly talented with his hands. Out of all of them he seems the most "magical". But magical might not always be best.. see bobby ryan, although amazingly talented, not every year allstar.
I think any team will be lucky to have any of these 4 guys. - ShudBeFamous
Galchenyuk is American, but his father is a former Soviet star. He still speaks with a little bit of Belarussian in his voice. Obviously American trained and that is where he was born, but he's Belarussian ethnically. |

Actually I think #1 plus Omark & Peckham for #2 and Johansen would be better! Keep the team full of young Canadian kids, boom! |

Draft Yakupov, no questions asked. That pick goes nowhere.
PRV is as good as gone if you ask me. - mochoson
why? prv is a left winger. yakupov is a right winger.
theyll be lookin to move hemmer if possible imo
even deal gags for the dman or a less talented but bigger center too |

No it wouldnt, I dont know if you know this but Ebs is a avg skater, he cheats allot if you watch him play, if he played center he would get caught out of position more then hall. - FiretheGM
Hall's faster but Eberle has better edgework. Hall's skating is built for the wings, whereas Eberle turns on a dime. He's elusive, and corrals the puck better. Wow, it's like I'm almost convincing myself not to trade Eberle for a top-pairing defenseman. |

If you caught the press conference I don't think there is any doubt that Tambellini is going to keep the pick. You take Nail who is considered small at just shy of 6 feet. It is safe, you can put him on the number 2 line with hemsky and gagner and run the 1 and 2 lines the majority of the night. He will have little pressure and have two good players to help him (although I think he likes the spotlight from the interviews I have seen). No one would give the oilers a dman that is solid without a huge price tag for the number 1 pick. They will get gambles like schenn. With Nail the oil are a goalie and a dman from contending and they have tons of pieces they can trade as their top 6 are staying as long as edmonton wants.
Might not be a dman or a goalie but Nail is the only real pick. Only person I would trade pick one for is Schneider or Rask. However I am not Tambellini nor am I foolish enough to think that either of those goalies are up for grabs.
If you think it is anyone other than Nail look back to tambellini's interview. The part where he says if he builds the team with good young talent, free agents will sign. |

Why not? We're not getting much for Hemsky. I'm not advocating it, but with Hall, RNH, Yakupov, you can afford to trade him for a young top D. Unless we're a little too sentimental. I don't want to do it, but it wouldn't be as bad an idea as you're making it out to be. Either that or you trade Gagner, and move Eberle to centre. |

Trade Eberle? What type of drugs are you on and who is your dealer because I'd like his/her number?
Eberle is our best player, scores clutch goals, and is undoubtedly one of the emerging leaders on the team. |

I'm just looking at trade value, and being the most proven guy, you could get that D for him. It wouldn't create a black hole because you can fill it with Nail, plus a patch a hole on the defense. I don't think they will trade him, but I'm not arguing to trade him for trade's sake. We need a D. I guess I wouldn't call him expendable, but if we could pull of a deal for say, Pietrangelo, I'd do it. |
