Holy crap. Yea, getting there.

edit- akane you have to use your photoshopping talents to put in a talk cloud coming from Mario "Hey Kev, mix in a salad once and a while"

If Rich Pilon tried to hit him now, Stevens would probably just eat him.

Statistical based write up for the series. Had to squeak it in while the kids were taking a nap:

Gunner good read but I think you messed up this part:

Penguins and Flyers both finished the regular season with identical 19.7% power plays. The Flyers were #1 in total PP time this year with 548:50. The Penguins were 10th with 463:13.

This can't be true. I mean this can't be possible can it? How can Gary's team have almost 100 less PP minutes over the course of the season? This is just confusing.

I love stats but once the playoffs start all that can be thrown out the window. Teams/players take their game to another level. So much changes in a series that is played against the same team.

Nice job however.

Hopefully the Pens studied tape of the Rangers on the PK. Attack Giroux every time he has the puck and hitting him while on the pk. They did a fantastic job of shutting him down last time they played. Take away his time asap and then bump him.

In most cases I do agree, however when the Pens/Flyers play in the regular season, it does indeed have a playoff flavor.

I just saw a stat from Craig Button, where Bryz is 0-5 with a 4.75 GAA and.880 sv% in his last 5 playoff games. That stat is crap, that was with Phoenix and against Detroit. No bearing to this series at all

That it is, I may have 4 friends less when this series is over. haha When I lived in pitt I could just avoid being friends with flyer fans but moving here there is a good ratio of the people that are flyer fans so I have to have some friends that root for the bad guys.

I am friends (actually now family) with a guy who moved over here from philly and married my cousin. He eats and breaths the Phils and Eagles. But is a converted and very educated Pens fan. He texted this morning, 'Pens in 6, go Phillies'

But Phoenix was a good defensive team then. Not saying they should have beaten Detroit, but Bryz looked outright lost in that series last year.

Artie needs to transition from power forward to goalie. He is bigger than Fleury in full equipment.

If you saw some of the goals Bryz was letting in there is some truth in those numbers. He had quite a few soft goals in last year's series. His team had a tough matchup to begin with, but he played poorly himself as well.

Just tether him to the pipes. There won't be an opening. A shooter tutor would leave more room than Artie.

In other news, it looks like Elliot is hurt and Halak will be starting. In a weird way it is almost better for them that they don't have to choose one or the other.

I do remember that series a little, and yeah he was bad. I just think it's hard to put those stats to this series. I hope you guys are right and those numbers hold up. I think Phoenix was just happy to be in the playoffs in that instance given all the orginizational un-certanty.
