How was that a bad hit? He gets him square in his chest and uses his arms to push... Clean hit in my book. Someone post the video with Malkin swinging his elbow at giroux head and we will compair which is worse....

The Jean-Claude Van Damme Memorial "Van Damme It" Control Center? I blog about that on the site where I talk about the Illuminati and Nephilim. That goes way beyond hockey. Dur.

That name was in the running, but they settled on "Crosby's Cave", for obvious reasons.

I accept Cooke is going to get called for penalties others wouldn't be called for yes. He's earned that reputation unfortunately.

The difference is when he or anyone else gets called and I don't agree with it, I look at is as a bad call, not an elaborate scheme thought up by the NHL to help the other team win.

- canadianpenfan

of course. I don't think of an elaborate scheme either -- but how many bad calls until one thinks that maybe a player is getting a little favoritism. It's going to be good.

Nope.... hate making predictions. The only one I put any stock in is that every playoff series takes on its own personality and it's impossible to predict beforehand. All you can do is make an "on paper" or "gut feeling" prediction and mine is no better than anyone else's.
- bmeltzer

Could we get your gut feeling on the Flyer/Pens series? Pretty please with sprinkles on top?

i also hate predictions. but i hate certain predictions more than others. for example, the guys on NHL Network were basically salivating all over the Pens, heralding their superior depth, etc. But then they pick the Pens in 7 games. If they are superior, why not 5 games? 6 games? In my mind, picking the winner in 7 games is weak. Once you get to a game 7, anything can happen. And if you are predicting a game 7, then the teams are more evenly matched than you are letting on.

I thought I heard Paul Maurice pick the pens in 5. THink he's all butt hurt about Lavy actually winning with the Hurricanes.

If you say so. I prefer to think sports are fair, it makes it more enjoyable. You should try it.

That's why I take off my orange glasses for the games

I don't buy into the conspiracy theories because even if any were true, I'd still rather just enjoy the game and not think about them.

24 Cups .... and you?

That is all.

- imsorry66

Please. How many teams were the Habs playing against back in the day? I think a few times they were the only team to show and won the cup by forfeit.

In the Flyers thread, we only deal in post-expansion cups. So he only has a measly ten or so championships to lord over us.

Plus, the Flyers would not have been the "Broad Street Bullies" yet. The villainous team would be the one no one seems to remember for some reason: The Big, Bad Bruins.

Ive been saying this all along. This potentially could be the most exciting matchup of the entire playoffs.
- jak521

It may prove to be the most exciting series of the playoffs, but I'd rather the flyers play them right off the bat rather than the ecf. I think they have a better chance. Ow than later.
