Except Staples Centre will be filled with Canuck fans. There will be no unfavourable environments in this series.
Look to the Blues, Bruins or Rags for the upset. Canucks will be moving on in 5. - micah555
Ok, that still doesn't mean quick won't play better... |

Your team had a 2 goal lead in the 3rd and they choked. You could have been playing the Blues and yet here you are. - micah555
Canucks probably present a more favorable matchup for the kings anyway. |

Yet the Canucks faced the Oilers, the Wild, the Flames and Avalanche how many times to rack up those points? Kings managed to lose the division a whopping 2 points below the leader, in a division with 3 teams qualifying. You keep believing the Nucks are God's gift to hockey. - cryptical77

Canucks fans....
Any team can't beat any team in this league, the Kings match-up looks favorable against the Canucks. An upset can be pulled off in any circumstance, there is no overlooking the Kings, they play a good team game, before you know it, Quick could steal a game or two and then the Canucks are behind the eight ball.
No doubt about it, the Canucks have the better roster on paper and can certainly walk the walk, but the Kings have been playing playoff hockey for the past two weeks, have a goaltender that can steal games, play a great team game that wins playoff series, look at the Canadiens, it is almost a replica of what the Kings are. Halak was their great goalie, they trapped the poop out of every game, and Cammaleri burst onto the scene with a tremendous two series, anything can happen. |

That is so true.
Better roster on paper??? They won the (frank)ing league, made it to the finals last year... LA are the 8th seed... they barely made the playoffs.
Sure, teams can catch lightning in a bottle and upset the better team, but that ain't happening here... no way no how. |

This is the main reason why the upset is most likely to happen, looking past teams usually winds up biting you in the ass. |

Since the trade deadline, of the western teams in the playoffs, Kings were 2nd in offense, 2nd in defense, and first in win percentage. Canucks were 8th in offense, 3rd in defense, and tied for 3rd in win percentage (with St Louis). Kings also had the top goal differential. Granted either were missing 1/2 the Sedins and Carter for stretches, but I think this will be closer than many think.

Kings cannot discount regular season stats in one instance and then accept them in another. Vancouver wins this series in 6 games, Book it! |

The fans are looking past the Kings I doubt the team is. They did that last year with the Hawks and it almost cost them the run they had. |

They made it all the way to the SCF, they dominated the regular season again, IMO, they overlook the Kings again, and it might just bite them in the ass. |

Yeah, that's why 8th seeds win 1/16th of the Stanley Cups handed out, because all team are equal. It's like a lottery.
Quick's playoff numbers are quite poor. He's never come up big on the big stage and I don't see that changing now. The Kings are a much worse team than the both in high end talent and in quality of depth. They're going to catch a beating in this one. - micah555
I can think of another goalie that sucks in the playoffs. I'll give you a hint: he has a huge shnozz and flops a lot. |

Very very true. Same can be said for the other side as well. My only point is that the 16 point difference in the standings isn't as black and white as everyone seems to think. I guess that's why they play the games.
Here's an even better summary of the past month stretch run. Leaguewide stats from a Flyers blogger. I still can't buy that the Kings have no chance.

I don't mean it like they have no chance. Everyone has a chance. I just don't think, this time around, they'll get past Van. I'm not trying to slag on the Kings, would like very much to see them successful, the fans deserve it. That being said, just don't see it in 2012. |

Dont get me wrong, i HATE the Canucks! but Schneider is one of the best, if not the best goaltender in the league. and the fact that he sits behind roberto the cry baby luongo every night is a joke! point being; Schneider is definitely better than Quick. Schneiders up there with Henrik Lundqvist and Pecker Rinne.
my prediction: kings are gonna stomp on luongo in L.A both games, probably take one in Vancouver, then comes in Schneider it goes to a game 7 in Vancouver and Schneider proves to the world that he's better than Quick. he wont let in more than 1 goal
yes sadly Vancouver will go to round 2 where they will be eaten alive by the San Jose Sharks!!!! |

I'm going to save this page for use later in the playoffs. I'm surprised that non-canuck fans are so full of hate that they let it cloud their judgment. Quick will have a bad 1st round and be the one responsible for LA's early exit. Book it. |

Im sorry but not only does LA not have much top end talent... they dont have the depth to cover their ass if the "top" two lines get shut down.
King, Clifford, Richardson, Fraser.... is Martinez still on the backend?
Who is even in the bottom 6... its a revolving door of slow, uesless meatheads.
This team is worse than it was in 2010 (offensively speaking).... and even with a 90 percent powerplay we still won in 6 games.
If Quick plays lights out... and Daniel is out for a few games... I could see it going to 7 games. But if Quick plays good.. but not great... Canucks in 5 or 6.
This isn't football... they play 7 games for a reason... and although Quick can easily steal a game or 2... stealing a series takes a very special goalie and a team with much more experience. |

I don't know why but your pic annoys the (frank) out of me, it makes it so hard for me to defend my team with that picture |

Martinez ended the year as one of the league's Corsi leaders. Offense ain't exactly his weakness.

Odd. Looks like Daniel was far and away better than everyone else on your side, followed by Henrik, Booth and Burrows. Makes more sense, no? |
