Keep an eye on D Jason Garrison. UFA with plenty of upswing, now looking for a huge payday. Love to keep him......

No way Columbus does that deal. Edmonton or Toronto might.

The past few summers have been fantastic in many ways. We have seen trades at drafts, and we have seen UFA frenzy’s on July 1, but my friends and fellow fans of rumors...you are in for a treat this time around....

This summer will be the best since the first post lockout frenzy. We not only have big name UFA’s, we have big name trades being already discussed.

And that is just the tip of the iceberg this summer....a summer that will see a CBA negotiation which could include a player exemption clause that could open up the trade floodgates at the draft in Pittsburgh like never before.

No matter how you slice it...a whole lot better than a summer waiting for an aging Sundin, hurting Forsberg, or even Brad Richards courtship...We have stars out there for the picking!

...as well as diving into the deep end to discuss the summers ahead for the Canadiens and Maple Leafs.

Totally off topic, but I'm trying to get my playoff draft list together and need a good site that has current line combinations. Anyone know a good one?

i constantly feel the need to cut my fingers off when i hear people say that about gustavsson..

you've got it all wrong friend. if it weren't for jonas we wouldn't be drafting in the lottery. not having a goalie that could stop a soccer ball is primarily the reason the leafs are where they are..

The problem, or I should say reality, with Jagr is he's completely unpredictable. I'm sure he's loving Phillie and wants to stay, but the wind will blow and he'll switch to the Isles or something no-one could have ever predicted.

Brilliant player. Very odd bird.

- coohill

Jagr will go to a team that has a right handed centerman. Which is just another way of saying he will go to the team that will pay him the most.

I know I'm going to get beaked for asking this.
Ek, you think with the new owner and a ton of cap space the stars will go after one of the bigger fish this offseason. We didn't get new ownership till late in the year and they really didn't get a chance to make an impact for us, so I'm guessing there going to try and atleast grab a top player this offseason and prove to the fans they are dedicated to winning. I know the past few years have been poor on the attendance side, so it may look unattractive to some FAs, but the second half of this year was great. I also hear that most professional sports players love playing here in Dallas and love north Texas itself. I believe we are only a few top end players away from challenging in the west.

Brad Stuart's situation has nothing to do with the money. Wings will have a ton of cap space in the offseason, even if Lidstrom comes back. Stuart has just expressed wanting to get back to the west coast and be close to his family.

If Toronto deals their 1st rounder this year for Nash I officially give up.

I can hear it now from Burke:

"Anytime you have the chance to get a player if this calibre you have to do it. I'd be an idiot not to make this deal and I'm not an idiot. I believe Rick Nash is a top 5 player in this league and give this team a chance to compete every night."

And he will speak to the trade of a lottery pick:

"The pick we gave away as part of the deal may well turn out to be a good NHL player...but as I said before, I'm not interested in 3-4 years from now, we're trying to wni now and Nash gives us that chance"

Man...being a Leafs fan sucks.
