Staff and Ennis had amazing chemistry that I dont think you break up. Trade Vanek and get Parise in here. Roy could be useful next year because its a contract year so he'll probably put up some big numbers for us, but to be honest as long as we get a decent return on him I could care less. - Rally_Shots
I think Ennis and Foligno had 'amazing chemistry'. Staff just happened to be hanging around the net a few times when the puck went in the net.
For 4 Million I want the player to show up for at least half the games.
Did lindy say this or is this speculation on Hamilton's part? - msillen
Hamilton is as big a d-bag as garth, so it wouldn't suprise me if he is just trying to stir the pot. With that being said, I do think "Pommer" was a safe choice for Ruff. Although he had a decent season compared to the rest of the team, the team took on Pommers soft personality at the same time.

I would move vanek, roy, sekera kaleta and leopold
bring in a shut down d man (suter) and resign sulzer
torn on weber or mcnabb to be the last d man in this situation
I think tropp brings more long term then kaleta and I do not think tropp is a third liner yet
then go after a clowe type left winger, a brown type rw and bring up a kid to be the third line center
just my two cents - homiedclown
Great minds think alike except for the comment on Weber. I'll take McNabb all day long but I'd probably prefer him to start in Rochester one more year. I'd just dump Weber for whatever I could get.

I may get slammed for this, but I think McNabb may end up being better than Myers.

Careful DD and myself got ripped for that suggestion when there was a rumor that a duck center could be had for myers - homiedclown
You could be right but I'm just not ready to give up no Myers yet. I'm not even remotely suggesting he could turn into Pronger or CHara but if he comes close in the next two years then he's a damn solid D man locked up with a solid contract.

I think myers in year one was miles ahead of myers in year 3

He could. He's already a lot nastier and he's more comfortable looking in his frame.
Buffalo's D looks really solid for many years. That being said, I think they should deal from their strength. With so many young D men in the pipeline and/or in the lineup already, like Homie suggested, sell the farm and go after Suter. Trade for negotiating rights and get a player like him.

that scares me - homiedclown
Is that Myers' fault or Lindy's? Because the same could be said for a lot of players that come through here. Look how Foligno started, which I think is similar to how Stafford started when he first came up. I hope with a full year that doesn't happen to Foligno too.

I said this on Saturday (I think). You need to get rid of 2 of the 4 remaining "core" guys: Vanek, Roy, Pominville and Stafford. The first two are my choices, but the important thing is to break this group up. I don't see how trading Leopold for the sake of trading him helps this team other than maybe cap room, but I think they can already make just about any acquisition work by my "trade 2 of 4" plan work. They don't absolutely need to upgrade. The can move sideways. They have the pieces in place where just merely becoming "different" makes them better.

Please take a look at how long it takes for a lot of d-men to develop. And Meyers because of his size might take longer. I think some are to impatient

Trade Myers, for as big as he is he will never amount to Chara. We have way to many soft players on this team and it shows. - SABRES 89
They were saying the same thing about Chara. It's why Ottawa chose Redden over him after Buffalo victimized him in 2006. Chara never became the dominant player he is until well into his contract with the Bruins. The question is: is it worth the wait?
"gave them $121.5 million, bringing the grand total of his hand-picked players to $276.5 million -- more than a quarter of a billion dollars."
"Ruff, meanwhile, has coached the team into the playoffs just four times in the last 10 seasons."
The situation is pretty dire. I don't know how they plan to keep fans excited for next season, besides the young guys like Foligno and Ennis. Quarter Billion dollars and they cant even buy a playoff team.

I think Foligno did well on the line but it was driven by Ennis and Stafford. The three of them did very well as a group IMO. I would keep them together for next season.
I wouldn't care if both Vanek and Roy were gone but I want stafford and pomms to stay.
4 million for stafford is not a bad contract. This disappointing season is making some a little to rash
