However, Berube didn’t back down when asked about the melee between his club and the Penguins on Tuesday.

"I've got no problem with what Schenn does," he added. "And if somebody runs [Crosby] over, that's great. They should run him over," Berube told CSN Philly Daily News Live.

because it's playoff time, and he still has the best beard ever. that's why.

I think even Florida has a chance, in fact I'm picking them in 7. Having everyone at ESPN pick the Pens and Bruins is odd, but not surprising.

Also, Lanny is still an icon in this city to this day.

- canadianpenfan

I would be careful with that pick. Devils are on a roll and Florida barely hung on to win the division. They are just happy to be there

when it's playoff time, i think of great moments - not just flyers great moments. there are 2 great things about that picture.

1. Lanny, a classy every-man kind of vet won his first cup that year at the end of his long career. Hockey fans everywhere were rooting for him. He hit some milestones that season, and scored a key goal in the series final game. It was awesome to see him win.

2. The Flames knocked out the Habs in their rematch from '86. As if the Habs losing in the Cup Final wasn't good enough, it was even sweeter because they had knocked out the Flyers in the conference final, which of course is the series where Chelios laid out Propp with a cheap shot.

Actually there are 3 great things about that picture.

3. Look at him. Just look at him. It doesn't need any further explanation.

Hey MJL,
What do you think about the Grossmann deal?

I like it, he seems to be a great fit and fills a part of what they miss with Pronger, at least on one half of the ice.

I think it's fantastic. And I'm ecstatic that he's returning.

Just an interesting side note. If the NHL seeded their playoffs like the NBA does, where division winners are only guaranteed a top 4 seed so they get a home series in the first round for winning their division, this is how the playoffs would be shaping up.

1.Rangers
2.Penguins
3.Bruins
4.Panthers
5.Flyers
6.Devils
7.Capitals
8.Senators

I just post this for discussion (or not) sake.

Some idjit tweeted this morning about JVR being stupid for saying one of the highlights growing up was the NYR winning the Stanley Cup. Really? You're going to criticize a guy for his rooting interest when he was FIVE YEARS OLD? Grow UP already. He wasn't born draft day.

I see that NBC will be televising playoff games across all of their networks. MSNBC, CNBC, NBC sports and NBC proper like they did with the Olympics....good stuff.

They said that every game of the playoffs would be broadcast live between the NBC networks and NHLN.

How sweet is that?

That is pretty damn sweet. Like a new Rush single being released on April 19th, or a new Rush record coming out in May. It's THAT kind of sweet!

it's amazing how much more sense the nba's first round makes than the nhl's, and then they completely foul it up by not reseeding in the second round.

I would draft Brett Keisel from the steelers to play on the 4th line just for his playoff beard alone.

Brett just stand in front of your net and take out any opposing player who stands there.

Can Crosby even grow a playoff beard?
