He sprained an MCL and missed 10 games previously. He had a knee on knee collision that resulted in a minor injury. I don't see any long term damage or any chronic issues in his past. - MJL
Grossman is nine years younger than Gill and has good size at 6-foot-4, 225 pounds. He's an average skater, an underrated physical player despite low penalty minute totals and nearly as good of a shot blocker as Gill.
The Swede has tended to be quite injury prone thus far in his career. When he's in the lineup, it's an absolute must to pair him with a puck-mover because Grossman is not very good with the puck on his stick. With the Stars, he has averaged nearly 19 minutes (18:59) of ice time per game this season and he saw a lot of time against opposing top lines last season, but I see him as more of a 16-minute player on a deeper blueline. - Bill Meltzer
Jeremiah Trotter was interviewed and said it is a regular practice in the NHL. The biggest issue with the Saints is that they lied about it, and also continued to do it when they were told to stop. - MJL
Assuming you mean NFL there, unless Trotter is just a huge hockey fan and we don't know it. Which he could be I suppose...
someone has to be a very weak person to not want contact in a contact sport - 2Real
Clean, hard contact within the rules is fine. What the Saints (Williams) promoted went beyond that.
Plus, why offer more money to already highly paid (professional) players to just go out there and do their job? The weak ones are the ones who need the monetary incentive in the first place.
I'm just surprised about everyone saying how astonshed they have been hearing about all of this.
this stuff happens. you cannot tell me that players target one another. So now when it becomes public...
Oh my that happens...he should never coach again....
it happens it's reality...it's wrong but it happens.
here is the best part...
it's still going to happen but it's going to be hidden a lot more... - phi1671

I seem to remember the redskins making round about remarks of going after Romo when he was playing through that broken rib earlier in the season too. Football is a brutal sport. Played that more than anything else as a kid. You always dream of laying the other guy out and when you finally do it either affects you or it doesnt. I guess in pro-football where there's multi-million dollar salaries to be played for things are different. Don't see the need to pay an financial reward to a player who injures another player though.

oh contact
i thought we were talking about targeting heads specifically to inflict serious injury. in my mind that's different than simply "contact" - Crimsoninja
if you finish your check with explosive force and hit the head who cares

Me too. I'd like a weaker team but I have seen the Flyers knocked out of the playoffs by inferior teams before. So if we're gonna go out in the first round, rather it be a team that I know is better. Yes they are a better team but it doesn't mean they will win the series either. - JoeRussomanno
Honestly I'm trying to remember when the flyers have been knocked out by a truly inferior team
The question that was asked referred to his knees specifically. The injuries that I mentioned of the sprained MCL resulting in missing 10 games in a previous Season and the recent minor injury, is all that is on his injury resume as far as his knees. So based on that, I'm not concerned about his knees.

I'd be happy if there was never another Star Wars movie. - BulliesPhan87
I'd be happy if there was never a bad star wars movie. The prequel trilogy had potential to be great but Lucas decided to experiment. Hopefully he uses what he learned and applies it to the next trilogy. He's got one more in him before he's done.
