And Tootoo was "pissed" when he was benched. But that's not an attitude? Who would be happy at being benched after playing all season AND having a great year?

Tootoo has done the dirty work of this organization for YEARS. He's earned the right to gripe a little if he wants. Wilson hasn't done jack. He's starting to come across as having an air of entitlement about him. He needs to eat a little slice of humble pie and start trying to improve his game in the areas the coaching staff have asked him to.

My only problem with that is it appears as though the coaching staff is asking him to improve in areas they refuse to hold veteran players accountable for. The coaches want consistency. It would be nice if they showed some themselves.

Tootoo should have been gone when he brought his off-ice issues onto the ice. No excuse.

Agreed. The important thing is that publicly, Wilson is saying all the right things.

Btw, it's so nice to watch a Preds game with ZERO pressure to win. I love it.

Couldn't disagree more. Him "saying all the right things" when the reporters are there is thrown out the window if he is whining and causing trouble as soon as they leave. What is said to teammates and the coaching staff carries far more weight than the bs everyone knows you're supposed to say when the media is in the room.

Just as much damage can be done behind closed doors as it can through the media. If he's not happy he should keep his mouth shut do what is asked of him and let things play out. If he's still unhappy at the end of the season address it then.

The coaches want him to put as much effort into his defensive game as he puts into his offensive game. That's what he needs to focus on and forget how other guys are treated. Vets have earned a longer leash; it's like that in any sport.

Botttom line is he's the player and they are the coaches. If he wants to play, he needs to do what they've asked him to do. If he's not happy about it he can address it in the offseason. But don't cause waves in the locker room by whining and acting like a spoiled little baby.
