I think it would be fantastic if they signed him and announced he was going to play immediately. I may lose my marbles.

I have heard a lot of Bill Guerin-Tony Amonte comparisons.

who was the last player to go right from either college, juniors or minors straight to the playoffs? In addition, who was the last one who succeeded? Was it Ken Dryden?

Not saying he is wrong, but would be surprising if only Maguire and no one else knew this.

I have a hard time believing Pierre broke the news about Kreider. When another source confirms it then I'll be jumping for joy.

Yeah, two games for Amonte, one for Weight. Dryden actually played in six games at the end of the regular season for Montreal but was the #1 in the playoffs for them that year

yeah

countless guys have gone from the Olympics straight to the NHL too, like a lot of the 1980 and 1984 US teams

it would have been nice if Kreider had got to play a regular season game, but whatever, he has more skill than at least 8 of our forwards, and BC played in a very stingy defensive system.

I really think people make too much of not knowing the system, who in Connecticut really knows and would thrive in Torts system anyway?

Really interesting... I like having Kreider as our extra forward, if we do throw him right into the fire who does he replace? Personally I'd like to see him watch a game or two from the press box before he jumps into the fire!

I think he replaces John Mitchell. Not really a big fan of his. If there has been one guy who is just taking up a spot at this point I'd have to go with Mitchell.

You hit the nail on the head. Mitch is fine, but Kreider probably has way more to offer in terms of his speed.

Good call, then I'd like to see the lines something like this?

Hagelin Richards Gabby
Kreider Anisimov Stepan
Dubinsky Boyle Callahan
Prust Rupp Tenk

I like the balance between those top three...

Possibly switch up the 2nd and 3rd to be

Cally's gotta be on the 2nd line, too valuable in all areas.
