You missed a lot. A LOT. The board literally looked like Vancouver after game 7. There were fires and looting. I think KGR was making out with fossilgirl in the middle of the street.
This is the Pens organization saying "You want something to complain about? I'll give you something to complain about."
I love the playoffs. - canadianpenfan
Almost similar to what I said earlier. If they are going to be constantly painted a certain way by other organizations, then embrace it and show them what its like when we decide to ACTUALLY play that style.

Poor Jody Shelly, gonna have to get his face pounded in a canned fight that will mean absolutely nothing.
I was listening to Madden and he had a guy on talking about penalty minutes. I didn't realize the Pens don't have anyone over 100. Both the flyers and rangers have 3 above 100, and it's the usual cast of characters.

Apparently, those teams have gotten lots of interference calls.....
We have that thug James Neal leading the way with 87 followed by Asham at 76. - madmike71
I don't know if Rinaldo and Simmonds qualify as a "usual cast" for the Flyers, considering one is a rookie and the other just arrived this season. Point stands, though (not that I have a problem with their PIMs, the three of them have done well this season).

I guess I shouldn't said it was the same characters, but more that the teams employ plenty of guys that play on the edge. I mean, Rinaldo elbowed Robert Bortuzzo and gave him a concussion this year with no penalty, suspension or fine. I sure don't remember Pens management throwing a hissy fit.
With all the whining by Rags and Flyers management, you'd think they have a bunch of choir boys on their teams. Facts are tough to argue with however...

I seriously don't understand this argument at all. You think that Torts or Lavi or Bylsma or any coach gives a crap about being 'right' or 'wrong'? They have to stand up for their players. If Joe Vitale was Zac Rinaldo and Danny Briere was Sidney Crosby do you think/would you even want Bylsma to talk about how is was a clean legal hit and how his player should have his head up in his post-game? How well would that go over in the locker room?
Here is the only fact:
A PLAYER ON EVERY TEAM HAS AT SOME POINT TAKEN A CHEAP SHOT AGAINST A PLAYER FROM ANOTHER TEAM
There is footage of Crosby going behind a Thrashers player and punching him below the belt. No team is innocent. For any fan of any team to take a holier than thou attitude about any of this stuff is BS; there are examples on every squad.

Actually, if you go back before that, this is a cute one posted by acdc1206 on page 4 that kinda started everything off:
"Uh, hey genius you do realize that even Briere said it was a CLEAN hit by Vitale don't you? He just WHINED saying that the hit was meant to hurt him so I guess every single clean check in hockey is meant to do that. Please try to use some objectivity instead of acting ignorant. Your comment about Simmonds was hysterical by the way. Hopefully, Bylsma told his players that they aren't allowed to touch him because he's got a boo boo.
The funny thing about Lavy and Torts going off is they act like they never dressed players like Shelley, Sestitio and Avery. Typical hypocrisy" - shonoff95
You are very right. I should have never called you a genius. Don't know what I was thinking. It was very wrong of me to do such a thing. Clearly with the way you trolled our boards with laughable comments you aren't a very intelligent person at all and I should have known better than to call you something you are obviously not. Please accept my sincerest apologies.
However, got to love the "waaaaaaah he started it" post. How old are you junior? Yup, Penguin fans are whiners.

"Here are two questions I'd like answered by hockey's intelligentsia. By John Tortorella, Peter Laviolette, and all the idiot Rangers and Flyers fans.
If the Penguins are sissies, how come they're the ones laying people out?
If the Penguins are whining, how come you're the ones female doging?
Tortorella, the Rangers coach, has every right to be upset by Brooks Orpik's hit on Derek Stepan. It was knee-on-knee. Reckless. But things happen very fast in hockey. And I bet Torts didn't lecture Mike Rupp back on Jan. 6 after Rupp knocked Jordan Staal out for a month with a similar check.
If I played against the Rangers, I'd blow up Torts every chance I could. It's a BLAST watching him explode: The facial tics, the histrionics, the theatrics. It's like watching an eight-year-old coach in the NHL.
I don't see the connection between Orpik's hit and the alleged whining perpetrated by Sid and Geno. Maybe I'm too close, but I don't hear the whining. I don't see the arrogance of the Penguins organization.
What I do perceive is a lot of jealousy on Tortorella's part, and a HUGE double standard.
I want to thank Torts, Laviolette, Daniel Briere, Craig Berube, Mike Milbury, Pierre McGuire and Martin Biron for an easy week of shows. Let's do it again next week!"
I just got home and I'm so excited about the MacIntyre call up... If the Flyers didn't like who was on the ice in the 3rd period then just wait and until they see Big Mac!!! So excited to see who the Flyers start tomorrow.

I love it to be honest. The season is over and it's time to set the tone for the playoffs. To me it's now and 8 game series and its time to soften the Flyers up some for the playoffs. I would sit Malkin and Sid but guessing that Geno plays atleast.
Im at the point where I am going to embrace the persona other fans are pushing. They want to paint Pens fans as blood lusting lunatics promoting a dirty team then fine. Lets roll. - Rawdog9755

Tomorrow's gonna be fun as a precursor to Round 1. It will definitely set the tone (as if one needed to be set).
