Philadelphia Flyers ‏ @NHLFlyers
ADDITIONAL INJURY UPDATE: #Flyers Briere is out indefinitely (back injury); Grossmann is day-to-day (lower-body injury).

Philadelphia Flyers ‏ @NHLFlyers
INJURY UPDATE: #Flyers GM Paul Holmgren - Meszaros is 2-4 weeks from return (back surgery); JVR is 2-3 weeks from return (foot surgery)

In other news, Derek Stepan is just fine from his knee on knee hit with Orpik. It's actually possible for guys not crumble like a pretzel when they get hit. Who knew...

- PLindbergh31

What should the Flyers Medical staff do in your opinion, to keep these injuries from happening? Are the players on the other teams just tougher? What is the solution? I know one thing. Complaining about it on a regular basis isn't a solution to anything. And the Flyers aren't the only team it's happening to. I watched a Buffalo team last night in a must win situation play without it's top 2 defenseman.

Did something change here. I was expecting JVR around mid 1st round... thats about 10 days... 3 weeks means he missed entire first round This is bad news.

BTW I told you guys Meszaros' surgery wasn't as bad as people thought... they are saying at worse mid round 2.... That is good news.

2-4 weeks from now seems like it'll put it deeper then mid 2nd round potentially.

Goes better with your avatar imo (except for the whole "power lines" part, of course)

Ok. Then whoever at the league told Dreger they couldn't was wrong. Good work league.

So, never having watched a Flyers game, you haven't seen them repeatedly hit in vulnerable positions, hit hard, hit awkwardly and pop right back up and keep playing. Because it happens in every stinking game.

Would you please put a bullet in your hobby horse's head!

I guess every knee on knee hit is the same and should have the same result, I don't know.

Of course, Dreger could as easily have checked the rulebook (it is a searchable pdf). But tough to do on a phone if he's not at the old laptop.
