I don't know about the renaming but adding a few might be cool,
Most physical player with offensive abilities - Gilmour Award
Toughest NHL enforcer - Tiger williams Award
Rookie scoring title- Selanne award (different then calder trophy)

And in spirit of change, change the draft format teams should not be awarded for being the crappiest. Maybe something like all of the bottom 10 teams or maybe bottom 5 from each conference have an equal shot at the number 1 pick. I don't think its right to have a vested interest in losing as a fan.

No. The names serve as a guide to learn more about the history of the game. Did for me when I was a wee lad.

They could create the Loafer award shaped like the shoe Mike Milbury beat a fan with and give it to the biggest millionaire with the fewest points!!

Tradition is what it is, and if you try change it. It quickly becomes a gimmick. Leave the current trophy names as they are, but you can honour more modern players, coaches and what have you with new awards.

this is probably not the deepest rookie crop ever
callahan is not the best captain in the NHL today
nobody wants the red line back
jaromir is better than teemu
comparing stamkos to giroux is stupid
math. the projected standings. ... okay
there are no relief pitchers on the new york rangers
regular season series have nothing to do with the playoffs
it is not time to rename the awards

taking a day off every once in a while is okay

Everyone talks about missing the character that went with the Norris Division or the Campbell Division. The award names may not hold the same significance as division and conference names, it messes with a tradition that is every bit hockey just to modernize something without reason.

The Bill Masterton trophy stands out as one, when you know it's meaning, needs to remain. A significant story that wraps around alot of the small tweaks in the game over the years, but parallels issues that still remain like concussions.

I do not want a key I need to refer to anytime Darren Pang mentions Cal Clutterbuck is no Paul Kariya Award winner when the Paul Kariya award CLEARLY = the Lady Bing.
How about Steven Stamkos and Corey Perry as the winners of the last two Pavel Bure Awards, though leaving Rocket in there might help, or how about the Billy Smyth/Dominik Hasek award?

All of ese are not completely timeless. While renaming may satisfy those that grew up on a certain era of hockey, it sacrifices the integrity surrounding what it means to win or see your favorite player win something as prestigious as the Vezina or Hart. See: winner of the Prince of Wales and Prince of Campbell Awards.
