I'm not glad on the opponent we got, I am glad about the opponent we avoided.

EDIT: We are also finally playing well going into the playoffs, so that's a good sign.

We've always played Washington well. Even when they were in their heyday, it seemed like we knew how to stifle them and make Ovechkin and Semin a non-factor.

Florida has given us problems this year, and always have, that's why I would prefer Washington.

I'd probably prefer Florida over Washington. A lot more firepower, Backstrom is back for them and OV has been heating up. Though I'm definitely not overlooking them, won't make that mistake again...

There are pros and cons of each. Florida will probably not bring a very physical game and we clearly out match them talent wise. That said we're 2-2 against them this year.

Washington has a ton of firepower when playing well, but just Neuvrith and Vokoun was already out.

Either way, we should beat both teams. I'm confident saying how we play will determine the series.

Even when Washington was in its heyday, we always played them well and managed to stifle their top players. Florida is a sneaky team and definitely should not be overlooked. However, we are playing well go into the playoffs, Brodeur is playing some of his best hockey, and our third line is clicking and our fourth line has looked pretty good of late.

Amazing storyline for Sykora. Out of the league to 20-goal scorer. Vintage Brodeur saves tonight too.

The Devils were (rightly) beating up on teams worse than them in this little win streak, nice to see that building confidence used to contain a highly skilled team in Detroit.

If they can roll four lines like this in the playoffs, they have a great chance at turning some heads.

The sad part is, that fourth line will include Parise/Zajac/Kovalchuk.

The Josefson lost was a huge loss, bigger than it seems.

cranford would've been screaming his ass off from the amount of interference allowed in tonight's game.

Well it should be expected that Parise and Kovalchuk will be double shifted with the 4th line and play heavy minutes during the playoffs. I wouldn't call it a huge loss, because he wouldn't be playing big minutes if he was healthy, especially during the playoffs. It would be nice to have him, thought he was doing good, but it is what it is.

I remember a bunch of fans thought we were delusional for expecting more than a lottery pick from this team.

I really think he doesn't do well with the responsibilities at center. The fourth line was a mess when he played there and from what I've seen this game we have trouble breaking out and controlling the puck in general with him at center. I also don't think he should be on the PK.
- rmdevil313

Agreed the guy is a winger. A good winger at that too. How do we have no grinding prospects to call up wtf!
