I thought so too but we're wrong. Hawks/Det would have same ROW if Hawks win in regulation on Saturday, after that Hawks would win next tiebreaker. - dan9189
They should start Emery................. This might suck! |

be nice if the refs would actually signal goal or no goal on the bickel goal or the shoot out goal. How do you over turn or confirm a call if they don't make one!! - bogiedoc
I agree. Toronto called that, then the refs decided no goal. There was no way that was going to be a goal. Everyone knew it wasn't a high stick, if it was then Minnesota doesn't use regulation size goals. |

You have a point with starting Huet. Either it could build up Crawford & Emery (I am better than that) or he find his game and becomes the new "Niemi".
A win/win |

I'm pretty sure he wouldn't even need to clear waivers. |

I picture the Hawks up by one with a minute left desperately trying to put the puck in their own net to get the three point game. |

I would much prefer to see the Kings advance than get embarrassed by Nashville. Detroit gets home ice with a win Saturday, so I expect a one sided result for hockeytown.
Special teams has killed this club all year, so unless a miraculous turnaround occurs the Hawks will be gone very quickly in round one. |

While the Preds are a damn fine team, the 84 Oilers they are not. They would be the toughest 1st rd draw for the Hawks but I don't think they're the unstoppable force that some are making them out to be. |

They've been holding back on special teams all year in an attempt to lull the league into a false sense of security. I have full confidence the real special teams will show up starting in game 83. |

So you think the Hawks have been sandbaggin' for 81 games? Now that would be something. |

They are not unstoppable but they are everything the hawks are not: more balanced, very good special teams, and stand on head goaltending...to mention a few.
C2 best playoff game last year was game 7 and they lost...in goalie duels the Hawks have lost most them this year! He is not a game stealer. And a team that wants to win 16 playoff games are going to need a couple of those! |

So Stars and Aves are gone!
Hawks/Wings play before Preds/Aves.
How will the Hawks approach this game....should be interesting. Detroit has not been playing well the last 3 weeks as they battle alot of injuries.
So who will it be: Rinne, Smith, Quick or Niemi!!
With the Hawks outrageously weak game loser special teams and there lapses defensively....I am not sure it matters! |

Ya, the bad special teams has killed them to the tune of 99 points. With their captain out for 25% of the games.
You really need medical treatment for that severe form of negativity you suffer from.
Why do you watch the games - it's clear the Hawks really can't beat anybody other than dregs of the league. No sense showing up for the playoffs, it's all over with these 2 shootout losses; Nashville is invincible, Quick will shut them out every game, the Sharks are too rough and tough to handle. WTF man. |

I'm going to say this once and I'm done - TG, come at me with your best.
Crawford has to start making tough saves in the third period with the game on the line.
PP - terrible, awful, people should be fired for this situation. 4 PPs, 11 minutes - nothing.
PK - not any better.
And the Hawks just laid back in the third trying not to lose - only 1 SOG.
But in his last 3 games, Crawford has given up leads of 2, 2, and 1 goal in the third - twice very late.
Screens, deflections - make the damn save, win a damn game. - StLBravesFan
Is that your split testicles talking again?
Again, how bout scoring 1 PPG...just 1 and ice a game?

Ican make them whistle, but not talk.
Yes - one or more PP goals in 11 minutes; a game without a PK GA; getting more than 1 3rd period SOG; and for God's sake, teach these guys how to score in a SO.
But the play-offs are probably going to be a lot of 1-goal games, and your goalie has to lock down a third period lead - no matter what. Crawford has not done that 3 games in a row.
Not a good sign for the play-offs. |

What else could it be? Their special teams can't be this bad for real...can they? |
