I was five. It was epic!
That said, another Rangers v Canucks final would be sweet....obviously with a different outcome though. - AK3
I was at game 4 (old enough to be totally drunk). Me and my buddy were so pumped after the first, up 2-0, almost 3-0 with Richter stopping Bure on a penalty shot. Not so pumped at the end of the game .
The atmosphere was amazing, the crowd singing the Canadian National Anthem was a feeling you don't get much as a spectator. |

Holy Lord i'm old!
That series still feels fresh to me like it was 5 years ago.
I actually rooted for the Canucks in that one, ahh, the ignorance of youth - Anjin
It was easy, they were the underdogs, 7th seed, most of their first round with Calgary were OT or longer, took care of Dallas and TO in short order and were up against the stacked NY Oilers. |

What's more demoralizing for a team and their fans, having a team with a 60 goal guy and finishing out of the playoffs or having Lupul and Kessel on your team and not making the playoffs.

1. excluding Reg. season OT and SO
2. injuries
3. goalies, as in, was a back-up in nets?

All I want to know is when is the riot in Vancouver. - bradjc
second round after they get knocked out by Nashville and we hear all the Raduolov and Daniel's concussion excuses
And Kelser will once again say that he was playing hurt (GASP, hurt players in the playoffs) |

St. Louis vs Pittsburgh in the final
Pens in 6 - steve362
Assuming the Pens beat the Flyers, which is a BIG if, they're gonna be too worn down to handle the Bruins or Rangers. I highly doubt the Pens get to the SCF.
And the same is probably true of the Flyers, I might add.

it's def part of the game sometimes. he writes crap to get hits from us complaining. other times he just honestly displays that he has no idea what he is talking about. |

I cannot see anyone beating the pens in a Best of 7
Potential first line players they have include Crosby, Malkin, Neal, Stall, Kunitz... potential second line players they have include Dupuis, Sullivan, Cooke, Kennedy.
Plus you have Orpik, Letang, Michalek, Martin and Fluery.
That's 9 top 6 forwards on their team... This team is too talented not to win the cup |

I have seen parts of it on NHL Classic... It was epic, in spite of the negative outcome!
I think it would have a different outcome, were it to happen again this year... But I don't think the Rangers will be going to the Finals.
Canucks over Flyers in 6 will be my unpopular prediction at this point - Mr_Clean
i don't think i could handle the flyers losing the cup on home ice again. |

I disagree -- flyers are just talented and if the goaltending is the same goaltending we had in march, we could take them. |

Here are the Tiers i have.
Tier 1: Crosby/Malkin = 3 points
Tier 2: Neal/Giroux/Briere/Letang = 2 points
Tier 3: Hartnell/Kunitz/Dupuis/Cooke/Sullivan/Simmonds/Kennedy/Jagr/Timonen = 1 point
All other players are interchangeable.
Pits = 15 Phi = 9
Edge for goaltending goes to Pittsburgh
Edge for Home ice is likely gonna be Pittsburgh
Only shot you have of competing in a long series is if Pronger comes back. |

I think your over simplifying things with your tier system. So cooke and Simmonds are worth the same 1 point to their respective teams? Not a chance IMO. Your also discounting the affects of role players that will contribute in large ways for both teams. I think the pens are the favorites though. |

Wrong. Florida will be out in the first round. - VanFan79
Don't count them out. They are a good team and will have home ice advantage. |
