Wow, twice a year?! So that means that Sid and Letang would have him beat after a whole week of hockey games. Yeah, it really needs to stop. - shonoff95
I said "at least", 2 I can remember off the top of my head. Which is the same number I can think of for Letang. Difference being he did it in 2 straight games.
Point is the Flyers dive to draw penalties as much as anyone else, Pens included. |

I was paraphrasing. Kinda like how you guys "paraphrase" Flyer fans as "Cryers" for "pissing & moaning" or "whining & complaining" when we point out facts about how 87 & 71 get away with a lot of stuff they dish out but then can't take it when it comes back at them. - shonoff95
It's a two way street...BOTH sides are doing the same thing right now.
A lot of Penguin fans find it ironic that the Flyers want to do certain things to the Penguins...yet complain when the Penguins do the same things...
AND VICE VERSA.
Such is a rivalry.
The difference is...at least as far as I am concerned...some of us take exception to jumping into a thread with all of the 7 year old ideas and nicknames that clearly indicate the only purpose is to instigate.
Now...this seems vaguely familiar...I have seen this somewhere before...but where?
I will officially...right here and now...withdraw from such future rebuttals.
I think the Flyers have the Penguins # right now...but I think IF our guys can figure out how to deal with it correctly...and play some good NHL playoff hockey instead of pond hockey...we have a team that is better than the Flyers and we should win the series.
SHOULD is the keyword...and if the Flyers prevail, then so be it.
OK...let's see if I can make it through the rest of the day without contributing anymore to the we said/you said rhetoric.

You should be even-handed, though. If Briere/Giroux, etc, anyone who has had a concussion issue pulls a similar act in the playoffs against the Pens, it will ring pretty hollow if you call them out for it. - MadCap2008
How's the old saying go..... "If ya ain't cheatin, ya ain't tryin"
I'm sorry but going down like you were shot after a minimal crosscheck or rolling around on the ice after a check until the penalty is called is way worse than snapping your head back when there's a stick around your face.
Have a co-worker fake punch you in the face when you're not expecting it.... I bet you pull your head out of the way. |

Just to clarify..."Crysby" and "Cindy" are unacceptable terms in this forum per your referee, but "lil debbie" is deemed to be okay. Got it. (Seems like the double standard held by Pens fans about their precious 87 & 71 being able to dish out hits but not take them has carried over to the forum.)
Btw, why "lil debbie?" Do you really like their snack-cakes or something? And how do you get "debbie" out of "danny?" At least "Crysby" is close (only 1 letter off).
Oh, and is Joey not talking to the media yet & crying because he's too busy eating through a straw, sitting in a quiet room, or realizing that Karma is a female dog? haha - shonoff95
Well, I've never felt the need to go over on your board to call a player names. The only thing I've written on flyers boards are things like "good luck" or "nice game". But see the difference between you and me is I'm not an asshat that gets a rise out of degrading players on another team on their board......plus, I'm also an adult and just guessing.....you're still fighting acne.
I don't know what joe is doing, however I do know he's not crying on TV like little debbie..... |

speaking of skirts...
Milbury said that Bylsma, "should have taken off his skirt" and done more to confront Flyers head coach Peter Laviolette.
"Crosby gets cross-checked, big whoop," Milbury said. "He said after he came back from his 35th concussion, 'I'm not going to do this anymore, I'm not going to get into those scrums, I'm going to stay away from that stuff' but he couldn't help himself because there is a little punk in Crosby. He's not the perfect gentleman, he's not that little sweet kid you see in all those interviews with his hat pulled down over his eyes. I say screw him, hit him."

You go ahead and take a Chara shot off any body part. Padded or not and I bet you'd be crying like Briere. He could hit you with a tennis ball and you'd be bawling for your mommy. - Ben37
WRIST shot. (not the 108 mph slapper.) Miss a couple shifts?...sure, I can understand. But the rest of the game? Good Lord. And you guys talk poop about Briere? Simmonds took a puck to the face (while scoring a goal), got his stitches, and came back a few shifts later. Earlier this year, he got hit in the face and came back with a full cage to finish the game. For a 4th line "tough guy" who wants to dish out big checks, Vitale sure is a vagina. |

Right, sure you have. Meanwhile, you're such "not an asshat" that you have a name like "madmike" and can't even answer a simple effin question I asked. Good job there, sport. Still fighting acne? Haha, yeah okay...you speak from experience there, junior? Are you a Proactiv customer? LOL.

Again, you go ahead and take any Chara shot, or any NHL'ers shot in the side of the face and then feel free to mock Vitale. (frank) it, let me take a wrist shot that hits you in the side of the face a see how quick you are to jump up.
No one ever mocked Simmonds for what happened. Most of us respect what he did. Vitale knocked your boyfriend out and put your thong in a knot and now you feel that you can mock him for taking a shot in a face. You're awesome. You exude class. |

Considering its OUR board, we get more leeway to talk smack on opposing players. If you want, go call 87 Cindy all day on your board.
Maybe you should ask Ian Laperriere what its like to take a puck to the head. |

Um...biting tongue.....
My guess is he could have a broken jaw.
Or some type of neck injury.
Either of those would have been treated differently than a bump/cut that needed stitches.
Feel free to continue your use of mis-placed anatomical terms

If Crosby and Malkin are really the dirtiest players on the Pens, then the league has come a long way since regularly employing no talent hacks like Berube. |

This just in from NHL.com:
The NHL has instituted a new rule change stemming from the events of Sunday's wild melee between the Penguins and Flyers:
Rule 48.1 Impeding a Flyer's right to carry the puck with his head down
After less than 2 minutes are left in any period, Philadelphia players carrying the puck, regardless of the score, shall be allowed to skate through center ice, with their head down, without being impeded by the opposing team. Any form of checking in this situation, regardless of legality of the hit, shall be deemed a 2 minute penalty. In the event the puck carrier is Danny Briere, an automatic match penalty shall be issued against the opposing player, in consideration of the fact that Danny is a whiny little B*tch who can't seem to be bothered with cardinal principles taught in pee-wee hockey.

If that Flyer fan wants to just post controversial crap to get people riled up, how about this:
Good thing Chris Pronger has that concussion. Now that is karma for 8 suspensions, his headshot on McAmmond in the finals and using his skate as a weapon. |

Hey, Lappy handled it like a man and went off the ice with blood gushing everywhere. And when Prongs got hit in the eye with a stick this year, he also took it like a man and went off the ice with blood spurting. Vitale didn't even get cut and there was no blood anywhere...yet he stayed on the ice like a little "biotch" (isn't that what you guys like to call "lil debbie?"). And then didn't come back in the game. Just sayin. Sometimes the facts hurt. |

I don't get why anyone has a problem with Letang's acting job? I think it was smart and a goal resulted from it. I'm pretty sure it happens every game and every team does it so no biggie. You would think he two handed someone in the face. |

I never claimed to be classy.
Do you honestly believe that you can take a Chara wrister in the face and man up about it. I'm not talking about Simmonds, it was you that mocked Vitale.
I know for a fact that if a Chara shot hit me in the face I would wimper like a kicked puppy. But then again, I actually play hockey and I have taken a puck in the face. It hurts, no matter how it got to that point.
But you can continue to believe that you are tougher than Vitale, and believe that I wronged you. |
