I just listened to Berube and I would never of thought he would go female dog but he did. Matt Cooke was dirty. Colby Armstrong, Jarrko Ruutu and were dirty. What Sid and Geno do isn't dirty. They might give a slash here and there but Philly was hitting them after the whistles every play. Wasn't that the point Philly? To get them annoyed? What we're they expecting? Besides it's simple the refs could control the game by calling it.

If Coburn hadn't cross checked Sid heading to the bench, just for the hell of it, most of that battle royal would have been defused, IMO

Ummm, #1, it was Schenn that gave Cindy the love tap on the back, not Cobourn. And #2, Crysby initiated that by hitting Schenn away from the play a few seconds earlier in the corner. Schenn was simply retaliating and not backing down. Maybe you should check the replays again.

What about the hit on Niskanen? Any video?
- akane13

I just happen to stumble on that video. I can't see most videos here at work so no I can't find one regarding that hit. I am sure there are many out there.

Was that Brandy Schenn?

It was nice for Schenn to stick up for himself...but completely moronic to do it from behind...in front of both benches...90 feet away from the puck...after the play (more or less)...

Yeah, so did Crosby hit Schenn from behind??? Retaliating from behind is ok in a Flyer fans book, but a clean hit to a player with his head down is cause for execution, right? For a tough acting franchise, you guys piss and moan alot.

Cindy and Crysby will get you a time out in here starting now. Call him by his proper name or don't post in this thread.

I never said it was a "smart" play in terms of trying to get away with it...I actually couldn't care less about whether it was smart or "moronic." I was simply setting the record straight on WHO it was and WHY it happened (in response to Cr*sby initiating the confrontation). Pens fans want to ignore the fact that 87 started it and then just cry about the guy being "targeted" and cross-checked away from the play...everyone should know that if someone dishes it out, they should be prepared to get some back.
You have to admit, though, that Milbury did have a point about Sid saying that he was going to stay away from the scrums after coming back from the concussion symptoms and not living up to that. It's no secret that 87 said that and it's no secret that he's slashing, hacking, & mixing it up in the scrums to contradict his words.

Actually...I could care less if Crosby does all of those things...and from what I have seen...to coin a phrase...'he's sticking up for himself'...

I encourage the Flyers to to continue to try and anger Crosby...it's worked so well for them in the past....I remember a game with Derian Hatcher...hmmm....

And there is no such comment, on record...of what Milbury SAID that Crosby SAID...

ugh... are we still talking about a little crosscheck shove from 2 games ago?

Schenn's crosscheck wasn't a big deal, neither was the couple of hacks Sid gave out.

Nothing that happened on the ice was a big deal... it has been said that the last two losses, that the flyers are in the Pens' heads with the crap after whistles and beating us in our building, etc... But man, seeing how much whining and complaining that Flyers coaches and some of their fans have done, it's pretty obvious that the Pens are in their heads as well.

Wow, you guys really have trouble with your reading comprehension, huh? I never said it was "ok" for someone to retaliate with a cross-check from behind. It's a penalty and should be called as such...in this case, it was going to be called but then got wiped out due to the video review on Sullivan's 2nd goal. What I SAID was that #1, Crosby initiated the confrontation with Schenn, not the other way around...and #2, if someone (ANY player) is willing to dish out the hacks, slashes, & hits away from the play (like 87 did), he has to expect retaliation and be able to take it. Isn't that last point EXACTLY what you guys "piss and moan" about all the time when people call Crosby "Dirty"???...you defend him and say that he's just "responding" (i.e. RETALIATING) to all the shots he takes from the other team and that's why he slashed Giroux 3 times after that one face-off and knocked his stick out of his hand while Giroux just stood there???? Yep, that's exactly what you say. So how is it any different? Talk about "pissing and moaning"...you want Crosby to be able to "defend himself" (by retaliating against people who take shots on him), but then if someone else does the same exact thing to him after he initiates it, all of a sudden you cry foul. It's a two-way street, folks...you can't have your cake and eat it, too.

Any word on Boychuk?
- ryman1566

I haven't heard anything, but a knee isn't suppose to kick out to the side they way it did. You have these things called ligaments that kinda, sorta tear or rip when that happens. Seriously, it looked brutal. And he didn't even try to get up.

If the sequence of events in that game trigger this kind of response the playoffs are going to be busy.

So retaliation is ok? Even though it wasn't the case, lavatory almost broke an ovary crying that the Pens were retaliating....that of course is not allowed cause it's the flyers.

Ironic how sensitive the poor wittle fwyers and fans have become. Lil' brandy schenn sure looked like he backed down when Asham got in his face.....

Damn Pens and their nasty bullies sending out goons like Adams, Vitale and Asham. Lil debbie brier crying how that big nasty joe vitale meant to injure him.....boo hoo.....

Funny, I said the same thing (that it wasn't a big deal) 2 days ago. But apparently there are some Penguins fans who still have hurt feelings because someone dared to respond to 87 and push back when he dished out a hit away from the play. (Oh yeah, and then there was that one genius fan of yours who said that everything started when Cobourn cross-checked Crosby, so the record needed to be set straight on that.) The whole "whining and complaining" thing applies to both fan bases...Pens fans are some of the worst when it comes to trying to protect 87 & 71 when they dish out cheap shots or hits away from the play (and usually get away with it)...they say that they're just "sticking up for themselves" and therefore it's acceptable. But then when the shoe is on the other foot, all of a sudden Schenn is such a meanie for daring to touch 87 and is the culprit behind the whole melee at the end of the last game. LOL, it's so laughable.

I have to agree.

The only way I ever learned that MadCap wasn't a total assclown was through the fact that he offered analysis without resorting nicknames a 3rd grader would use. Be a shame to lose that.

Check my previous post at 2:35pm for the whole "so retaliation is ok?" question. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and just assume that you completely missed that whole post.

Talking about Vitale, how is wittle Joey doing after getting a boo-boo from a WRIST shot last night? Is he gonna be okay, or does he need you to kiss it better for him??
