People get caught up in the strangest complaints, it happens. For instance, inflexible demands to trade Kimmo Timonen.

Please!

There was not a Flyer fan here....you among them..... that did not want his head on a platter or was hoping that the new CBA would have a buyout amnesty so you could be rid of him....until he had his little hot streak.

- Downeaster

I believe we've met. There were a number of people here, including me, who believed that Bryzgalov hadn't forgotten how to play goal and would work it out. It was a tough time and the transition was painful, but it was not wholly unexpected or unprecedented.

Even if players are rested (i.e. kept out of the crosshairs) and the game is meaningless, I have no doubt it'll get heated.
- BulliesPhan87

I'm sure it will get heated. Just because it's meaningless doesn't erase the fact that we hate each other. I just want them to rest 87-71-18-11-58-29 and everyone else can have at it.

Yes, but you may remember that even Richards, a forward (who has an easier transition) took a while to adjust to his new team/style of play before becoming productive. Or was I imagining all the fear and loathing on the Rangers' threads?
- bodiva88

No, you weren't as the track record at MSG has not been good at all with free agents except for the last two big ones Gaborik and Richards. I wanted Richards bad but prayed he would not be the bust like many of his predecessors were.

That said, for most of the free agent signings we were all happy Rangers fans that thought we were getting the cream of the crop....at least they were supposed to be anyways.....when the big ticket free agents were signed.

Most of them turned out to be sour cream.

So I can have a debate with pens fans after a near brawl between our teams, but if you say one thing bad about the rangers it becomes a troll fest...you guys must not be used to this whole being good thing cause your so defensive about your team lol.

Absolutely not. I for one have said over and over this year that Bryz was too good to play that way the whole season. I defended him constantly as did some others as well.

I didn't like the tone of the blog either. Too many sour grapes IMO. He still kicks your bloggers ass though.

27.5 if you count the roster last night as well as the injured players (Briere, JVR, Sestito, Pronger, Meszaros, Grossmann) but not including the guys like Betts and Lappy who are on LTI and were never part of the team this yr really and will be retiring and off the books at season's end.

Jan's a pretty good blogger, imo. I don't have a problem with today's Musings, though. I didn't think of it so much as a list of excuses so much as looking at where things went so completely wrong for the Flyers in this season series. Methinks the Rags fans are getting too caught up in the one point looking at the schedule, and failing to see how many other points outweigh it.

They are two of the best on the site. Jan is handicapped by not being able to devote all his time to writing/hockey. But he does a great job. I'd encourage you to read him as the playoffs progress.

Rangers fans hate the Devils more than anyone else. I don't imagine there are many with devils gear in their closets. That's just a foolish foolish comment.
- bodiva88

Bo...I go back a long way to games in the late 60's at the old Garden.

I live in Northwest NJ and do hate the Devils.

But.....there is no team and fans us oldtimers hate more than the Islanders.

You may label them as excuses. But in my opinion, they were observations of why the Flyers got swept.
Or he could of gone with the much more scientific statements that maybe you would of preferred of, the Rangers are just better then the Flyers, nah, nah, nah, nah!

The Rangers went 6-0 against the Flyers. I guess according to others we should crown them Champions without even playing the playoffs. Sounds good.

The Rangers match up better against the Flyers plain and simple.
The fact that the flyers didn't win a game or get a point comes down to a fortuitous bounce here and there and goaltending.
The Flyers have the pens number and match up against them.

If the Rangers are "just the better team", how in the world do the Flyers beat teams that beat the Rangers?

The best thing that the flyers can do is stay healthy. I'm looking forward to starting game 1 in the consul. Its gonna be tough but the flyers have a great chance here against the pens. I like the matchup and if the flyers win. It will be the best rivalry in the league

Sometimes matchups work in a funny way. A few years back in the Northeast Divisions the Leafs could not beat the Sabres, the Sabres could not beat Ottawa, and Ottawa could not beat the Leafs. Sometimes it is just the way it is.
