i'd prefer the panthers for the same reason you listed
i wouldn't mind a boring first round if it lets us get reloaded and refreshed

I actually agree.

I'd rather play the Pants in the first round, soak up some of the warm Fla sunshine to help get healthy, then play the Penguins later on.

yea it will be a better series if we're able to play with less handicaps

they have a much better chance of winning and staying healthy if they played florida. it's not happening though. the pens would make for a more entertaining and exciting series. unfortunate to be a first round opponent, but that's the way it goes.

you?

If they play Florida, who is to say they'll not be injured by the time they meet the Pens in later rounds. I don't want what happened in the 07-8 ECF series when Kimmo and Coby went down (not saying we could have won, but would have been more competitive). I want to meet the pens healthy and finish them in the quarter finals.

of course. they could sustain a ton of injuries. my guess is that the series would be less physical, less acrimonious, and therefore less chance of injury against the panthers.

Hockey is too strange of a sport to say that a less physical series with a inferior opponent would mean less injuries, than say a physical barn burner with the Pens. I see the pros of playing the Cats in the first round as a bit of a lesser of two evils and healing up some players in the process. I was just never one to try and finagle playoff match-ups. I want the Pens, in round 1, and after working them in 4 then you get your rest and healthiness.

You know if you let us win tomorrow you still have a chance to get Fla instead of Pitt in round one....works out best for everybody
- Homer

If you were playing anyone else tomorrow I'd be rooting for you. But can't root for my boys to lose a game.

I'll say they're the deserving 2012 Stanley Cup Champions.

What about them? Did Jagr get re-signed?

I got tweeted by the Flyers that they both did. Let me track down the tweets.

Huh. Now they aren't there. Wonder if they were bogus. Digging.

I can find my reply tweet to them saying I'm delighted. That was 2 hours ago. But the two tweets. Talbot signing a 3-year deal and Holmgren saying Jagr had signed are both gone. Hmph.

You know, now that I think about it, there must have been a Twitter glitch. Because there was also a comment from the NHL site that Penguins fans were more upset by the Talbot than the Jagr signing. Maybe those were burped up from the offseason? How disappointing. And of course Max's deal was a three year deal last summer. I'm not exactly a sharpie today.

Maybe they were erroneous retweets. I don't see why they'd extend Tablot, as he's on a five year deal already.

That had to be it. I didn't realize Max was 5. But I'm glad he's ours. and the Jagr deal I'd just expect after the playoffs when he decides what he wants to do next year. Play. Or start making babies.

I was very happy with the Talbot signing when it happened. At this point, that's completely changed, I'm extremely happy with it. As for Jagr, I wouldn't mind seeing him back, but I expect the Flyers may look to improve elsewhere.

I'd like to move on from jagr. He was a lot of fun this year. I had him at around 60 pts so he was right there with my expectations. I'd just like to find another young winger to go on that top line

Agreed. If he turns it up in the playoffs, I'll take it back, but right now his play annoys me for some reason.

I'd take him for next year if the price was right. There's some bonus that he already fits into the team rather than integrating someone new.

Talbot just signed a 5 year deal. A player isn't eligible to resign until he is in the final year of his deal.
