So I can have a debate with pens fans after a near brawl between our teams, but if you say one thing bad about the rangers it becomes a troll fest...you guys must not be used to this whole being good thing cause your so defensive about your team lol. - flyers4487

Rangers fans hate the Devils more than anyone else. I don't imagine there are many with devils gear in their closets. That's just a foolish foolish comment. |

Thats the best you can come up with? What the hell does that even mean? I don't know this for sure but some of our 2nd and 3rd year guys might be younger than some of your rookies and start?? Hockey is the only game in which the "starting" lineup might log the lowest # of minutes than the guys who don't start depending upon who the coach puts out there and is Rinaldo a rookie? Really?? You want to count him as a hockey player? - Blueshirts4ever
I don't think he meant starting lineup. I'm pretty sure he was just saying the Flyers have had more rookies in the lineup this year and add they have had the most points contributed by rookies in the league. they currently have 11 players 25 or under (including JVR who is out obviously) |

Big picture and I like you so lets not argue...and you can't tell me one month of good play washes away the first few months this is the same guy who got benchjed for the Winter Classic after all tha fanfare he got from 24/7 ok, maybe comparing him to Redden was a stretch but he has a long way to go to live up to that contract... - Blueshirts4ever
To say he has a long way to go to live up to his contract is fair. To say he's only played well for a month, not as much. True, he's had a stellar month in March, but I'd say he was consistently improving throughout the second semester this season. He had a decent stretch in that first semester too, in the middle of his poor play. So yeah, comparing him to Redden as of now is a stretch.
That said, with the length of his contract he could well see Redden's fate at some point. |

Yes, but you may remember that even Richards, a forward (who has an easier transition) took a while to adjust to his new team/style of play before becoming productive. Or was I imagining all the fear and loathing on the Rangers' threads? |

Bryzgalov has a no movement clause
he will never ever suffer the same fate as Redden no matter what happens, he is on your books until 2020. |

You guys are whining about having a homegrown team when the Flyers started over a dozen rookies this year. - JoeRussomanno
that still means nothing...just bc you had more rookies playing means our team isn't homegrown? by the way average age on the NYR is 27 and the average age for Philly is 28.5 for what its worth but who cares?? |

Well I just came on to talk puck with fellow Flyer fans, didn't realize babysitting emotionally deprived of successful seasons Ranger fans was on the plate. Catch you guys later. - JoeRussomanno
Then you've found the wrong place. This isn't a forum for Flyers fans it's one about the Flyers team and anyone who is willing to respectfully talk hockey is welcome, no matter their allegiance. |

Really getting player of the month makes him suck? - JoeRussomanno
Please!
There was not a Flyer fan here....you among them..... that did not want his head on a platter or was hoping that the new CBA would have a buyout amnesty so you could be rid of him....until he had his little hot streak. |

Forgot about the NMC. Oh well, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. For now, he's shown he's perfectly capable of being a solid NHL starter for us. |

Actually, false. There were a number of us who stood by Bryzgalov, and Mr. Russomanno was and continues to be a prominent defender of Bryzgalov, almost to a fault (no offense intended, Joe). |

To be fair Joe has been one of if not the biggest Bryz supporter this year. Through all the ups and downs, getting lost in the woods etc. He was def not one of the many calling for Bryz's head. |

So if the Pens win tomorrow night there is really nothing to play for this weekend. I imagine both teams will be resting players. Should be a great series. Good luck! |

This board cracks me up. People female doging about free agent signings? These two are the same type of franchise. Flyers fans suck it up. When everything is equal. The rangers and bruins generally own us because their style works against us. |

Even if players are rested (i.e. kept out of the crosshairs) and the game is meaningless, I have no doubt it'll get heated. |

The Rangers had ONE successful season in awhile. Last time they won the division was 1994 so lets not get crazy here. Theres nothing to "suck up" the Rangers were the better team during the regular season but that doesnt mean anything once the playoffs start. |

People get caught up in the strangest complaints, it happens. For instance, inflexible demands to trade Kimmo Timonen. |

Bullpoop. Some were critical but anyone who follows the game closely was saying that he needed to play better and it could be that he needed time to adjust. |

27.5 if you count the roster last night as well as the injured players (Briere, JVR, Sestito, Pronger, Meszaros, Grossmann) but not including the guys like Betts and Lappy who are on LTI and were never part of the team this yr really and will be retiring and off the books at season's end.
