and the Rangers aren't young?? who needs to get a clue? our oldest regular d man is Girardi and he is 27...Gabby just turned 30 and so did Hank...our captain is 27, two stud d-man who are 22 years old or in that vicinity in MDZ and McD...Kreider on the way...not saying Philly doesn't have a good young core as well but Sather of tghe eraly 2000's...not even close... - Blueshirts4ever
who started more rookies this year your Rags or our Flys? |
|
|
|
Man, you need to get a clue. This is Sather of the early 2000's spending like a drunken sailor on UFA's. The Flyers are a YOUNG team. Maybe check on the trades made last year, or the fact we DRAFTED Giroux, Couturier and traded for Simmonds, Schenn, signed Matt Read.
Oh I see, if you trade for youth that doesn't count right? Please. - Hextall271
Read will be 26 in 2 months. Not exactly a youngster....or a rookie. |

what in god's name are you talking about? - jimbro83
Don't even act like there isn't a plethora of fans that switch back and forth up there depending on whichever teams winning climate. I feel bad for you guys you could have a trifecta going with the fishsticks if that franchise wasn't so effed up. |

Fair enough, but that Rangers team was average at best. Lundqvist was the only reason they held a 3-1 lead on Washington.
It takes a little more than having a great goalie to beat a good team in the playoffs. Rangers had a terrible time scoring on Varlamov in Games 2-7. - MidnightMarauder
It does to an extent. Thomas's work last year for the B's was out of this world but they did have depth. I remember that team as being Lundvist with a decent but underperforming squad in front of him.
It would kind of be like how the Bruins let the Flyers off the hook in 2010. The Flyers were the higher seed but all anyone remembers is an epic choke. |

Kaspy was prelockout...Redden well documented...Drury was actually pretty good until his last season, that wasnt a total disaster...Naslund was servicable for the one year he played and then he retired which did us a favor, so that one really didn't hurt us...oh, not only did Gomez get us McDonagh (yay!) but clearing his salary enabled us to sign Gaborik, so as Jimbro pointed out, Gomez worked out extremely well...and by the way, Rathje? Pronger, yes Pronger whi is always hurt and is costing how much? Brygalov is heading the way of Redden also... - Blueshirts4ever
Yeah, when was Redden number 1 star in the NHL for a month? You must have slept through March. |

You can add a 9th reason, Rangers are just the better team this year as indicated by record(overall and 6-0 against Flyers) - leightons5hole
The 8 reasons given are why the Rangers are a better team. Not just a general statement that they are.

Last I checked he was a Rookie as this is the first year in the league. He's not an over 30 UFA signing so yeah, I would consider him part of the youthful core of the team. 26 is not over the hill in the NHL. |

who started more rookies this year your Rags or our Flys? - JoeRussomanno
Thats the best you can come up with? What the hell does that even mean? I don't know this for sure but some of our 2nd and 3rd year guys might be younger than some of your rookies and start?? Hockey is the only game in which the "starting" lineup might log the lowest # of minutes than the guys who don't start depending upon who the coach puts out there and is Rinaldo a rookie? Really?? You want to count him as a hockey player? |

Big picture and I like you so lets not argue...and you can't tell me one month of good play washes away the first few months this is the same guy who got benchjed for the Winter Classic after all tha fanfare he got from 24/7 ok, maybe comparing him to Redden was a stretch but he has a long way to go to live up to that contract... |

You guys are whining about having a homegrown team when the Flyers started over a dozen rookies this year. |

Rangers fans gloat all you want, I mean good for you guys...finally have a good coach who can fix your gms mistakes, and you had our number this year.
You just better hope the new cba still allows the rangers to use their AHL team to as a bad contract dumping ground, and not as a player development club like the rest of the league - flyers4487
Because the Flyers have never done anything like that?

So I can have a debate with pens fans after a near brawl between our teams, but if you say one thing bad about the rangers it becomes a troll fest...you guys must not be used to this whole being good thing cause your so defensive about your team lol. |
