They were too worried about beating the rangers instead of focusing on their own game. - funmaster18
If that's the case, please explain the rest of the less-than-stellar outings from this season.
I'll wait.

Rangers fans gloat all you want, I mean good for you guys...finally have a good coach who can fix your gms mistakes, and you had our number this year.
You just better hope the new cba still allows the rangers to use their AHL team to as a bad contract dumping ground, and not as a player development club like the rest of the league - flyers4487
the Flyers used it the AHL as a dumping ground as well...
But Sather does have a slight edge when it comes to bad contracts.

Rangers are a home grown YOUNG team solidified by 2, TWO, very good free agent signings.
Can the Flyers say the same thing?

overall i'm not too worried about the sweep. Quite honestly, who the he!! cares...
it's all about making it to the playoffs and they have accomplished that...
Now it's all about getting healthy and they have a week to do this.
Depending on Thursday's outcome, I would have a few regulars sit out to remain healthy.

They dont hand out the Stanley Cup to the regular season winner. There is plenty of hockey to be played and the best team will be carrying the cup at the end. |

What does it matter. Rangers have been irrelevant for years and they have one good season and people act like their the best team to walk the earth. |

About what, free agents signings or youth on the team? Because I don't know if you heard, but the Flyers actually made a couple of pretty big trades last summer to bolster the youth of the club. It was kind of a big deal. |

Is there a team in the Eastern Conference that doesn't want that matchup? - Gunner Staal
I'm sorry but I find rewarding teams for winning bad divisions is just a joke. its also going to happen in the west with LA/SJ/Phoenix. I'd rather see a Philly/Pens and Chicago/Detroit/Nashville (whoever finishes 4th and 5th) later in the playoffs.....no in the first round due to inferior division winners being seeded higher. The Flyers, Pens, Red Wings, Hawks and Preds will all finishing with in the top 8 in the league and 2 will be gone in the first round. just never made sense to me. |

so people can take shots at our free agent signings, I defend the makeup of our team, and you get defensive, that's funny.

I'm cool with supporting your team and the Rangers have had success this year but they have been average for years prior to this season. They won the division and maybe even the trophy for best overall team (points wise) but that means absolutely nothing because the big prize is still up for grabs, the Stanley Cup. |

Can you read? I wasn't asking for props, if anything I'm calling them undeserved!
I just don't like when people use excuses for the Rangers success, like the shootout, especially when it isn't even true!

Thanks.
I guess it's easier for some people to hang onto the stories they tell themselves and act accordingly than actually read and/or comprehend.
We have our fair share in our fan base as well. - Suckmysweatybawls

What exactly was borderline?
Disagreeing with ONE of the four things Meltzer said?
Am I not allowed to dissent?
Sorry, I'll just toe the line and bleat the same nonsense as everyone else.
For a guy that has Willy Wonka as his avatar, you seem decidely close-minded.

What button?
Reality?
Pointing out the inconsistency of his belief that shootout wins got us this far and the actuality that we have one of the fewest shootout totals in the league? |

That same CBA that allowed the Flyers to wipe away Mike Rathje's contract and allow him to go on the LTIR aka get off my team because you suck and we made a mistake signing you to a longterm deal in the first place list?
Every big market team has skeletons but those days of mocking the Rangers for bad contracts are pretty much over.
Time for a new routine |
