He's been really solid for Phoenix this year. I don't know that they would be battling for a playoff position without him.
But speaking of Bryzgalov, someone tried telling me that he won't be in Philly next year. I don't know how he thinks that it's even possible, since there's what, 8 more years on that deal? - HonkFortheGoose
Yeah, I don't see how they bury that contract.
But it's no wonder that Phoenix is in the process of making their second straight NHL castoff goalie look like a star. |

It doesn't hurt when Mike Smith posts 38/44/54 save shutouts, either. |

I just looked at their payroll, pnly 4 players making over 4 mil. No one making over 5.2. Doan is up after this year, same with Whitney, they should be trying to land a big name |

As a Sabre fan I'm embarrassed by the tying goal but I'll take the two points. It's about time the league actually gave a game to the good guys. |

I'm a Sabres fan and I am not embarrassed by that goal at all. The ref clearly saw the goaltender scrambling for the puck and must have been able to see the puck still. A goal is a goal. Remember a certain goal scored by one Brett Hull? That goal won them the cup... I will take this goal any day of the week....... |

I think some people are assuming there will be some kind of amnesty clause in the next CBA that is looming. |

Not saying anyone should be embarrassed by the goal as I certainly would have taken it if it went the other way, but there is no way the ref saw the puck. He is still looking at Scrivens' gloves when the puck is in the net. Should have been blown dead. Regardless, I really hope the Sabres make it. I've said many times before, my allegiances switch to them in the playoffs when the Leafs are out (far too often by the way).

You can make a case that he has been our best d man since he got in the lineup - homiedclown
Nothing flashy but he's had a direct hand in winning a handful of games since he came over. I like his overall play more than Sekera and Weber.
He's a top 6. Gragnani was not. |

Never a way to prove it but IMO every ref in every game in the past 20 years (except in Montreal of course where the give the home team freebies all the time) would have blown that play dead in under 4 seconds. Whether he saw the puck or not there was too much of a scrum. They always give the goalie the benefit on that play. |

I too not knowing much about the player said that he reeked like an AHL throw in, well he may have been just that but nobody told him. He has done great. Like I said last week, he might be your Pascal Dupuis, the throw in, in a larger trade that ends up being quite a solid addition. |
