Philly worries me, but Boston really doesn't have anything to play for at this point. They won't play Thomas in the last game and why would they risk playing Chara or perhaps some of their other stars in a nothing game?
- The_Inkwell

Doesnt matter. Remember the 2003 Bills who lost to the steelers 3rd stringers to get eliminated from the playoffs. I think it's all up for grabs. The Rangers are NOT gonna just cruise against the Caps and the Bruins arent gonna just hand the Sabres a win. We need Myers back for the Philly game or were toast IMO.

So if someone wins in regulation in the Caps-Panthers game and we win out, we're guaranteed a spot, right?
- The_Inkwell

Nope. If the Caps win Thursday, the Panthers need to lose their last game too. If Panthers win, then we're guaranteed a spot as long as we win out.

Marcus Foligno will be the REAL F'N DEAL!!

Marcus Foligno will one day be a captain of the Buffalo Sabres.

he is just the kind of player to lead this team into the next generation with his toughness and grit and scoring ability.

Armia - Hodge - Pommer
Foligno - Ennis - Stafford
Sundher - Catenacci - Leino
Tropp - Turnbull - Kaleta

Myers - McNabb
Ehrhoff - Sulzer

Book that sh!t for 2014

Sounds lovely except for the fat that you'd have two players over the age of 25

That is a biggie if you ask me, they are looking to go DEEP, home ice advantage in potential S/C series, pretty big.

Ok, that was just absolutely ridiculous, this is how people have heart attacks and/or go out on gun shooting sprees!!!

But congrats to the guys for gutting it out, I know we were having fun ripping the Sabres in the first period, but I think we all knew the Sabres were going to score, was a matter of how many.

- MikeyOz

I didnt think we'd be able to come back. After the second, I felt it. Then the Leafs went up 5-3 I absolutely lost it. Threw poop around. Swore at everyone on the team then sat in my chair lifeless.

Then our 4th and 5th goals were a great justice from the hockey gods. Honestly that scrum was justice for Komisarek sitting on top of Foligno and mashing his face in the ice.

Im less surprised about the refs allowing the play to keep going and more surprised that Ennis and Foligno were awarded assists on that goal

There were a handful of us dating back to last season that said put Ennis at center. We received a lot of tension because Roy is small and Ennis is even smaller. But look whats it done for us.
- theblueandgold

Small is a problem if your wingers play small too....Foligno has not and stafford has stepped it up.

You can look at the last 2 games a few different ways and depending on your outlook you will want entirely different outcomes on Thursday.

1) You think the Sabres can win out. If you believe that you want Florida to win Thursday. Regulation, shootout, or OT doesn't matter.

2) You don't think the Sabres will beat Philly but will beat Boston. If that's your feeling you want Florida to win Thursday and hopefully Washington doesn't get a point. This would also require a Rangers team who will be resting Lundqvist to beat Washington on Saturday.

3) You think the Sabres will beat Philly but not Boston. Again hope for the Panthers to win in regulation and hope the Rangers beat Washington

Saturday also.

There is a scenario if we win on Thursday where we could go into Saturday with both Washington and Florida on the radar. If Washington beats Florida in regulation we would get in if we beat Boston and Washington loses or if Florida loses in regulation. Pick your poison and cross your fingers. At least this team has made it interesting.

I have a feeling scenario three is going to happen or even the Washington winning Thursday scenario.

Great breakdown

They might play hard but I expect Marty to get the nod in goal against the Caps.

The only way we will win is if the sabres score 10 goals in the next 2 games. Miller has been terrible.
