Carolina wins, Toronto gets a point, Isles lose...good night for us

As disappointed in the organization as I am, I agree with you completely on racing to the bottom to at least get the better draft pick out of it all.

- UIF

Of course being in our present situation its the only way to go, Jimcc77722 is looking foward to the draft in september though. Good that he likes the draft because as an Isles fan he will have many more top five picks to get excited about

Well... If your not going to make the playoffs, it's just nice to have something to show for it.

A top 5 is nice!!!

Five years straight of last place divisional finishses. Five years straight of bottom five in the league finishes. Five years straight of no playoffs. Three coaches in five years. No significant trades or decent UFA's signed in five years with the notable exception of Streit and Moulson/PAP, who the team got lucky with. No way anyone can look at this team objectively and say anything is being done right.

You realy have to be "STUPIDLY" optomistic or completely blind to think Snow and Wanger are doing a good job or give a shat.

If you think I don't want this team to be great one day... you're wrong.

We all want the same results.

I agree that Wang is a bum... but what can you do?

Your wrong kindlyrick does he thinks we are doing a bang up job and that the future is bright. I am not convinced about the future yet until I see these guys actually play in the NHL and until I know where the hell my team is going tobe in the future
- kasperrko

Why? You need to see these "incredible" prospects play in the NHL??? Don't all of Snow's prospects become stars??? More picks! More picks! Thats all we need, we will be an NHL powerbouse by next year!!! Contending for the Stanley Cup

I know you do, we all do. Some people seem to embrace failure, I see your point(s). I was cautiously optomistic with this regime but I can't get happy about this shat anymore. I almost think the Isles should'nt be allowed to draft in the top five anymore

Top 5? If I'm reading the standings right, we have a very outside chance at top 2, if we lose out and Mtl and Edm win out. Not very likely, but I'm holding out hope.

When the season ended last year... I think we all thought this year would be the year.

Some players got better... some not.

But the one thing I think we all agree on is... that we need more team toughness and grit.

They need to play with a chip on their shoulder.

The young prospects... Nino, Strome DeHaan, Nelson need time to develop and grow.

I know you guys don't like Snow... but overall, he hasn't done a horrible job.

The Coach... I could care less about him. But they are not going to fire him until after the season.

And will probably only do it if there is a high end coach to replace him with.

If the team goes to Snow and says... get this assclown out of here. Then I'm sure he will be gone.

We don't know what JT and the others think about him.

I'm sure JT is running the show. You have to keep him happy!!!

Well that is what some people think here. It is funny to me it really is. I went to a few Islander games this year blew off some steam at the team. I was sitting right behind them one guy and yelled at them the whole game and think got on there nerves. This team is a joke and I am still waiting for the punchline. Wang feeds us that we look good crap and every thing is peaches and cream. Snow just tells us what Wang wants himt o say and our clueless coach every game says" I think we played real well tonight, I saw a lot of positives out there. The guys seem to be getting better" MEanwhile they lost by 5 goals and had like 10 shots on goal. Wang does not care about us or the team or anything Islanders and if some of these ass clowns realize that they will stop giving him money. I am waiting to see what they do this summer if they do not nothing then I am going do to them what I did to the MEts never watch this disgrace ever again and will only come back once Wang is deported back to China

Donovan getting a nice amount of ice time tonight and he looks pretty damn good. I have to imagine he'll be here full time next year. I'm excited to see him in person on Thursday.

Now you are right he is beyond horrible. I am so happy he got us small prospects who will get destroyed once they get to the NHL. I am so happy he has done nothing for the big club but cross his fingers and sign other teams cast aways. I am so happy he keeps resurrecting his friends from the NHL grave and give them contracts. I am so happy he makes imapct trades. He has done an amazing job with this team and the product on the ice proves that

Tonight was Islanders hockey at its finest. The fact that the morons who run this franchise are going to bring back a dolt like Capuano speaks volumes as to why everyone not named Garth Snow, Charles Wang, or Dee Karl (j.k. Dee) knows what a downright joke this franchise is.

I am so glad I was able to watch the Rangers, Sabres, and Panthers (thats right the (frank)ing Panthers) to remember why hockey is the greatest sport in the world. The Islanders have beaten me and every other fan so far into submission we forget why we love this sport.

- latorrem1

agreed but i dont trust wang as much as you do apparently...just because he said capuano is coming back doesnt mean its set in stone

Because I won tickets on Twitter. I swore I wouldn't attend a game where they wore those sh!tbag black jerseys all season, but I guess when the tickets are free I can't really complain. At least I didn't pay to attend any games with those hideous 2000-era Mets jerseys.

I don't really mind who Garth has picked. Nino, Ullstrom, Petrov, Nelson...these aren't small players, particularly when they fill out. If Garth was director of amateur scouting, I'd be perfectly happy. My biggest problem is what's happened to some of these players after they've been picked...Bailey and Nino in particular. And even with some of the others that have made the NHL not being surrounded by the proper vets to help ease them into the NHL. Garth is learning how to build teams on the fly because he had exactly zero experience doing it...he was pulled directly from the ice and dropped into the most important front-office job in the organization to deal with his own cap hit. A lot of this could have been avoided or at least lessened if there was some experience in there. Who exactly is/has been showing Garth the ropes? How to negotiate with agents? How to get what you want from other GMs? Strategies for building teams that have and haven't worked?

I've been thrown into the fire at my job before, but I at least had some experienced co-workers to turn to and lean on for advice. Who is helping out Garth? Charles Wang?

He should have started as a scout, or an assistant GM, or at the very least had a president of hockey operations installed above him to at least answer some questions and provide advice. It just seemed like such a strange thing to put him as GM, and I think it's probably hurt his ability to be taken seriously by his peers and FAs (pure speculation there). It was a big joke around the league when he was hired, and it's probably not very easy to overcome that perception.

Whatever... that's your opinion.

He should have added toughness instead of guys like Rolston and Pandolfo.

But hopefully he learned a lesson this year.

I understand the whole leadership role... but I think the kids will be fine on their own.

Haley and Martin plus another grit player needs to be added to this team.

It would be nice to add a top 4 defenceman, and a top 6 forward in the offseason. But every team would love to do that.

As for the draft picks and prospects... compared to where we were 4 years ago, it is night and day.

These kids in the draft are only 18 years old.

It's pretty young to be playing with grown men.

I couldn't imagine it.

You will see when you turn 18 years old... (Sorry had too)

Yup they do nothing that the fans wants to the same cast of characters will be back. Featuring the clueless coach Jack Capuano, Mr. Puppet himself Garth Snow. The glass man Ricky D. The babbling idiot Butch Goring. The Ranger fan himself Howie Rose. The ageless wonder the Nassau Collisieum. The sniper Marty REasoner. The flash with no hands Michael Grabner. The soft as a pillow Kyle Okposo. Will all be there. So come one and all next year as the Islanders start the season decent lose about 10 games in row and then fight for there playoffs lives until they totall collapse towards teh end of the eyar just to get a top 5 pick.

Well he did get into a few fights this year so Wang will get him out of here quick. Who else fought this year? They might as well pack there bags too. Martin throws the body to much so he will not be back either. We can replace him with Jason Blake at least he wont hit or fight
