I don't think so. All of the hosts on The Fan have called and asked him to come on and defend his comments. At first he just declined, then he said "you have to go through NBC" and that it wasn't up to him, and his final excuse to the morning show this morning was that he was "folding laundry".

What a tool!

I am not at all worried about Shelley with Engo in the lineup.

Are we ready for the playoffs yet?

23 years ago yesterday....

Berube should probably keep his trap shut about cheap players FWIW. Not that this video is about him, although he's in it several times

Shelley is not the same fighter he was 3-5 years ago..
He will go with anyone but doesnt really come out on top that much anymore.

Adams actually has some skill and does some things effectively. Shelly - not so much. He has the skill of Trevor Gillies

I know, there has just been a lot of talk of him making an appearence and the Penguins perhaps responding with Big Mac, which to me just has the makings of another Islander/Pen brawl fest. Which I don't think either team wants. If Shelley is in the lineup I feel that the Pens are already well armed for that situation with Engo.

Fighters don't really have a long shelf life. It's a brutal job that is a young mans role. Shelley has been at it for a long time.

In the fight video against Engo the tale of the tape has him at 6'3 225 I believe.

Schenn gave him a cheap shot, after Crosby kept wacking him earlier in the play. Crosby is a hypocrite. I love Millbury's comments on Crosby, everything he said was true. Noone likes Milbury, but at least he is saying the truth. Crosby whines and cries all the time, it is so annoying to watch. How could anyone respect him? Look at how Geno plays, he doesn't constantly dive and cry to the refs. Pens are just lucky noone wants to end Crosby's career right now, but you could bet in the playoffs, he will get hit hard!

Crosby also owned up to the amount of slashing he did. I haven't heard any other player from that game step up and accept responsibility.

I love it. I love that he doesn't care who it was just that it was a player in a white jersey. He reminds me of Jon Favreau's character from The Replacements.

He didnt own up.. he justified. They were whacking me and so I whacked them. They get me out of my game.

He was frustrated.. and gave Schenn a little shoulder to shoulder hit.. nothing crazy, but just enough to knock Schenn a bit. Schenn skates up behind him and gives him a little (and emphasis on little) cross check to the back. Neither of them were cheap shots. Why should Schenn back down from Crosby?

I dont have any problem with Vitale's hit. It was a beautiful text book hit. The problem I have is with Bylsma matching the Briere line with 4 out of 5 of their roughest and toughest players when he has the last change... The game was clearly over... but he wanted to send a message... You guys would have been equally pissed if the roles were reversed and Crosby got laid out by Rinaldo
Its been frustrating for the Pens this year when they play the Flyers.. frustration leads to turmoil.. it happens all the time.

To me.. it just makes Saturday, and round one the most exciting hockey on TV. The real tragedy is that the two teams should be meeting in the ECF not round 1.

Here's my thing about the "little cross check". Having played the game for 20 years I know that it doesn't take much of a cross check in the back to send a player, doesn't matter who, sprawling. I'm like 5'6 and have a low center of gravity, but still a cross check in the back can easily send me sprawling. All it takes is getting a little on your toes and you are going down. It's simple physics. Loss of friction/balance, forward momentum, mass and gravity.

I know that everybody who has sworn allegience to the Flyers believes that Crosby made like an Olympic diver, but there is a very real chance that he just fell. I'm not saying it was cheap, well other than being from behind and after a whistle, but it happens in every game so it's not big deal.

The main thing I have gotten from this so far is how chippy Malkin in yet how amazing his skill set is.

I always thought he was the best player in the world but now I realize he can play a dirty game also . It makes him that much more dominant in my eyes.

I think the best line in the world would be Malkin, Giroux , Stamkos. Talk about a female dog to play against..all are insanely skilled, all can be chippy, all bring something different.

Better yet..Crosby , Giroux and Stamkos which could happen at the Olympics.

A couple people have asked for a link referencing this supposed "owning up" by Cindy. If you could provide said link, that would be great. Then we can decide if he was really manning up and taking accountability or simply trying to justify it like someone else mentioned. Thanks so much.

Wrong. Completely clean hit. Nobody around here is going to complain about a clean hit regardless of the time of the hit.

The reaction from most of you philly fans is getting pathetic.

When is it a crime to match a 4th line/checking line with a scoring line? I'm stunned at philly fans reaction to a clean hit. It's really becoming a joke. Why don't you take a look at the history of your team as it pertains to message sending?

If Crosby gets laid out by a clean hit that's part of the game. Crosby is absolutely correct....if Lavi didn't want Brier to get hit, he shouldn't have been on the ice. I guess Vitale should have just let him walk right through the neutral zone with no contact because the game was decided.

Maybe the guy that deserves your wrath is Lavi for not understanding their could be some message sending. Experienced coach in a heated game, but puts little debbie brier on the ice.

Funny thing about Crosby is he takes that same shot, or much worse 20 times a game when he has the puck on his stick... and never goes down. I too have played, and still play. Im a center and I stand in front of the net a ton. Im roughly the same size as Crosby (6' 195lbs)... when you do go down its never in a motion similar to that. Im not saying he flat out dove.. i will say that he went down easy.. and made no effort whatsoever to prevent himself from going down.

The bs screaming of a cheap shot is hysterical... on both the Schenn shot and the Vitale hit.

I don't mind that Malkin sticks up for himself, I mind that he is so easy to get off his game when he buys into that style of play. When he gets mad but sticks to hockey he's a machine, but when he's involved after every whistle he plays right into the Flyers hands.

I think the difference is when he has the puck he's always braced. On that play he was heading to the bench for a change and wasn't expecting it. Either way it was harmless.

No no.. I completely agree with your gist. Briere needs to know where he is there. Cant hang your head. You can say you wouldnt be angry, but if roles were reversed... Crosby gets knocked out indefinitely in the final minute of a blow out win, by some 4th line grinder who throws a monster hit.. you guys would be livid. The guys on the ice would have also acted the exact same way.
